IRyS' music has the same beauty of her Nephilim lore. A duality within the same person. Bright fun and high energy, then on the other side it's a deep emotional rythm.

I’ve put it up in the app, but you really need to hear her live performance of Jane Doe with Okayu. It’s just beautiful

two things I want to comment on : First, falling down the Hololive rabbit hole is a treasure trove of original music. Not every Vtuber group out there has the capacity to produce original music like Cover Corp provides for the Hololive talents, and they put music out constantly. Second, IRyS is consistently producing music with the baseline idea of 'hope' subtly woven in. Most of the other talents are not restricted by that rule. So, most of her music has an uplifting, hopeful edge or resolution to it. I look forward to the rabbit hole journey, and business-wise, hope it has been lucrative for you. The Hololive community rally around the talents any way they can, and I hope it reflects in all our subs.

the great thing with Irys, Elizabeth and AZKi is that their voice is so so good.. their karaoke streams are literally as good as fully produced music. many others, you can hear that difference between produced and raw vocals. but to my untrained ear, i cant hear any difference.

Just joined up from the youtube video cause I had to see what you thought about both Gravity and Till the End of Me in contrast to her more energetic songs. You really highlighted the breadth of her musical journey. It's interesting to note that pre Carbonated Love her music was released as part of her solo gen Project: Hope. What you might not have known is that that project's management was fraught with issues that caused her quite a bit of emotional distress (+ an extended hiatus because of vocal strain from an extreme recording schedule) which is really reflective in her music at the time. Her recent music is way more positive tonally because after being folded into the multi person gen Promise, Project: Hope was shuttered and she became able to fully take control of her music. I'd love to see a breakdown of some more of her songs but especially some of her live singing which is one of her signatures. She's known to have studio quality live vocals

Between debuting alone as VSinger, and being saddled with a peculiar model that required an entire redesign before she could join the other talents in 3D, it is understandable that Irys would feel isolated. I may be wrong but it also felt like she was not very prepared to do actual regular streams early on. It seemed like the expectation was to be purely music focused, much like Azki, but clearly that was not going to be sustainable. Irys certainly came a long way since then!

Tim, please don't eurobeat and drive 😉

Irys is really fun. She isn't afraid of putting herself out there, acting a bit dumb and saying unhinged things. Yabairis is amazing 😍 And I am personally obsessed with her Taylor Swift cover of Ophelia: https://youtu.be/gs3X6MPYPvs?is=9tKz_2Bq-V8NM6ec

I don't think you quite comprehend what a huge deal it was for IRyS to have MOTSU collab with her on the song. The best western equivalent I could think of would be he's the Japanese Boy George (Yes, he's quite the character). He single handedly brought and ignited the Eurobeat genre in Japan back in the 90's. Initial D was a huge anime in Japan and for many North American viewers it was the first introduction to Eurobeat (the music in the show) and the street racing genre long before xXx and Fast & Furious movies. Us older fans were losing our damned minds when this song came out!

Still in disbelief that they scored Motsu.. It’s basically the equivalent of someone calling up Chuck Berry to get him on a rock and roll song with you..

BOW BEFORE OUR EUROBEAT QUEEN!!! This was a fun study! It brought me much joy to watch.

IRyS also does some good VA work for hololive and is completely fluent in Japanese also and does regular streams with the JP members

Back in the beginning, we were pushing for IRyS's fanbase to be called Taxpayers instead. Cause the capital letters in her name are IRS.

Yeah, you more or less got the whole gist on the vsinger thing. Back in 2021, IRyS debuted as a solo talent with the idea of her being focused on music, but only like a month before Hololive English's 2nd generation (and 10/11 months after Myth), Council, and due to the timing, she ended up bonding with the 2nd gen members. Eventually, IRyS would join the 2nd generation properly, and henceforth, they are known as Hololive: Promise.

Also because she was suppose to be singing focused and not other types of normal Vtuber content it was decided to have her designed in a completely different art style. It was near immediately realized this was a bad financial decision because it meant as things moved into 3d and live shows IRyS would require a dedicated art team for just her. So they ended up changing her design to match everyone else. I am surprised they attempted this again as these were the same issues that plagued AZKi and was what eventually brought down that whole project before joining her with Hololive.
