Man, I wish you reacted to the official MAPPA ED animations instead of just the cover art/music videos/mashups. Especially for Hawatari Nioku Centi. 😭
Without spoiling much Fight Song is the "B" side or Sequel song to How to Eat Life, that you read on the A side of the tape. Technically in the music video we are following the story of a character from his manga series Tobi. How to Eat Life at the very least is one of his most popular songs and does help explain what is happening in the MV. Overall, EvE used to be a pure Utaite, so he only did song covers, he did that alone with decent traction for the first few years. EvE at least as a Utaite didn't have a huge blow up necessarily more than over about 7 or so years built a large consistent fanbase. EvE, started doing and writing his own songs pretty early on and that is when he really started to gain real huge success. Dramaturgy is usually the song most people point to as one of their first EvE exposures. Though, he does have earlier albums from back in 2015 Wonder Word I actually have on Apple music. Some good stuff like Round Robin, though these songs are nowhere near as popular as his new stuff. I followed EvE before he started posting his original works on Youtube and was mainly just a cover artist, I think I started following him back in 2014 or 15 as I used him as vocal inspiration cause he did a lot of Kairiki Bear covers, as did I and I really liked his vocal style. Found a human voice easier to piece together melodies and such. Anyway, following him for so long and seeing his rise to such a popular J-Pop artist has been a real treat honestly. I remember when it was announced he was doing the first JJK opening and I was ecstatic. Seeing an artist you love going from a indie cover artist on Nico/Youtube to one of japans most successful and popular artists is amazing to follow.
I’m surprised this is your first Eve song. His music is iconic. His signature guitar sounds are so iconic. From Kaikai Kitan (from JJK), to Dramaturgy, to Raison D’etre, to Ghost Avenue he just has so many bangers
Tim actually did listen to Dramaturgy, but that was some time ago. https://www.patreon.com/posts/152519892?utm_campaign=postshare_fan&utm_content=android_share On the Request page we also have a Eve bundle that you can upvote if you want Tim to listen to more Eve songs! https://requests.timwelchmusic.com/r/f8d356e4-7f2c-4dc8-a8b9-82a4a6ac2fb9
