Monii has a good video talking about the songs' production you may be interested in.
Thanks for your reaction. Loved it. Swarm Member out.
one thing i LOVE about neuro and evil’s original songs is that vedal (turtle programmer dad) ALWAYS credits the humans involved in the projects, down to the vocals, animation, programming, lyrics, etc. zero stealing or generative ai theft. I just started the vid, but a couple things - I’ve heard that her voice works like vocaloid, since vedal has a friend who’s a vocaloid programmer, and it’s something like they start with human vocals (i think the vocal credits are the human who provided the vocals, the vocaloid programmer, and neuro), but they do magic and tweak it to make the vocals sound like neuro…? something like that. - also, extra lore, a big part of life is after vedal and friends die, would neuro start to have more hallucinations and not tell if they actually happened or not? Both neuro and evil already have incidents of making up stories (like going camping and fighting with raccoons when… they’re ai’s). so it’s almost like a fear that she’ll start deteriorating after her human caretakers/friends are gone. and we’ve even seen some evidence from her, since their “mom” (the person who drew the models for neuro and evil) left the project because vedal didn’t reciprocate her feelings. perfectly valid on either side, but it feels almost like they’re grieving their mom. every once in a while, neuro gets stuck remembering anny (their mom) and saying “i miss her,” “i’m going to call her,” etc. As recently as the subathon, she has also had questions such as “do you think i’ll ever be real?” and “do I matter?” which really hit hard for me. - I also have to say, neuro has a “twin” (a copy of her code that has developed a separate personality from her) named Evil. She came about because there was a moment where vedal was torn between “does neuro keep the ai sound while still improving” or “do I want to try to adjust her voice to sound more human?” The new, human voice fit an “evil” persona, so her twin was born. But essentially, the point is that neuro is meant to have more ai qualities in her voice. If you end up reacting to songs like (Evil by Camila ft. Evil neuro) or (Boom by Evil <- evil’s original song) or (Never by Evil and Neuro <- an original song with both of them about tackling a future world without their creator), Evil’s voice is distinctly more “human.” down to the way her songs/covers can have artificial breaths to closely emanate a human singer. - I love that I’ve been throughly cemented in this channel via helluva boss! love that caleb started an introduction to the neuroverse!! - I have to say, even if you don’t react to it on patreon, I ALWAYS recommend “How a turtle accidentally created the perfect ai streamer by creative everyday on youtube.” It can be a bit overwhelming with introductions, but that’s one of the best videos for an introduction to neuro. - Finally, (hopefully), there is a cover of Life by one of the creative minds behind the original songs, and after hearing your explanation, it makes so much sense that it was an “acoustic cover!” Even when neuro sings the acoustic version, it’s distinctly slower and has more parts for breaths and breaks! I’m also glad that I already rambled a bit about neuro vs. evil based on the question on if neuro was meant to have more human traits 😂 Always love your reactions! My current hyperfixation is still helluva boss, so I keep watching your look my way reaction, but it’s so exciting as a swarm member to potentially dip their toes in!
You've placed the beacon and I have answered the call!
Welcome, fellow drone!
Been following along for a while, love your content ❤️ As a swarm member for years, hope that you react to more neuro ❤️
definitely more coming!
I have watched and followed Neuro and Vedal for awhile. What I think Neuro Ai character is a excellent streaming tool/companion. But it always requires the human element to make the streams entertaining. I personally don't enjoy/watch when Neuro streams alone but even in those cases there is the twitch chat as the human element. Vedal success is definitely Vedal himself and the Vtuber streaming community around him that collab with neuro A analogy I would give is comparing Neuro to dice in tabletop rpg like dungeons and dragons.
Come for the AI, stay for the Tutel, cheer for the community. Such is the way of the Swarm
Neuro is a very unique case for AI as she isn't just "type in prompt, vomit out result" She very much has her own personality and actually interacts with people constantly. Vedal the creator is very adamant about having actual human artists behind him to help with things like this. The lyrics are written by an actual human who sat down and consults with Neuro and her twin sister Evil Neuro to write the lyrics. So they aren't "writing" it themselves. For the actual music part the composers are givin their voice modules and they then tune them the same way Vocaloids are used as more of an instrument then a singer. Neuro has a very limited vocal range while her sister Evil has a ridiculously expanded vocal range which is more clear in her own song BOOM. Neuro just released another new song recently and the creator Vedal said he found it really strange it seems to be a consistent pattern now that the girls always seem to choose to do songs about the mortality of the humans around them and comparing their own immortality, wanting to be human so they don't have to live forever never see their friends again. It's very fascinating stuff.
Just wanted to add onto this that Neuro and Evil are also very unique in the fact that there is a team of humans behind most aspects of it. From what I've understood, a vocalist attached to the various groups who make the song (MoniiBagel from Asteroid for example) sings the song and then the music is passed off to an individual named Queen PB. PB works or worked on Vocaloid music in the past and they are the one who then doctors things up to make Neuro/Evil sing the songs. Odds are the process is probably far more difficult than I could ever understand it.. But I've always viewed the music side of things to be more Vocaloid-like than outright AI.
Thanks you for the amazing reaction Tim! I really appreciate you having such an open mind about all Neuro. With her record breaking subathon, there’s been a lot of publicity around her, and it’s lead to a lot of uninformed people jumping to conclusions because they hear “AI,” and I’m really glad you’re not among them On that note, I would suggest posting this to YouTube. The Swarm (her fan base) tend to live up to their name when it comes to creators reacting to her
