I didn't get the vibe that there was anything different going on in their movements or performance outfits than any of the groups we celebrate from all over the world. Not at all. They seem to be caught in the middle of this war on ideology. My heart breaks for them.

They tried to suppress them by using some of their dance moves as an excuse. They also know they have strong backing from a large conservative segment of society, which is why they feel comfortable applying pressure. In fact, the legal provisions under which Manifest was investigated were introduced by the government itself back in 2018. Since then, they have been applying pressure gradually in small ways. But as the elections get closer and public reactions grow stronger, they are now applying that pressure openly and without hesitation. Please continue reacting to and supporting Manifest. Their growth and recognition abroad will significantly weaken the government’s grip on power.
It's insane to be shut down after going through the stress of auditions and then the work involved with rehearsing for shows. Those poor girls! I'm glad they avoided jail time and hope they can get back to performing. It's proof that fear leads to horrible actions. People either hold themselves back or use it to make sure that others "stay in their lanes." It's a bunch of BS.

What happened to the manifest is not something the group did directly. The party and leader who have been in power for 23 years suffered a significant loss of votes in the recent local elections, and the left has started to rise. In the next general elections, it is very likely that the founding party of the country will win. People in Turkey are extremely tired of the far right and want to return to the country’s “founding principles.” This goes hand in hand with secularism. However, this deeply disturbs a segment of society that has been living comfortably for a long time. In addition, most of the negative comments on X are from bot accounts.
