Nice pick for a review. I saw this when it was first released, and got some commentary within the Chappell community. Which was entirely positive. It's an exceptional replica cover of the song that Chappell considers the most difficult to perform in her own catalog, so much so that in live concert Chappell often drops it by a key when she does it. So it's not a trivial piece to approach. Lily does an excellent job with following the studio higher key version perfectly, while also adjusting around the production choices that were made in it, as you noted with the breath control, and having to drop part of a phrase. Her choices were excellent. Lily also picked up Chappell's general choreography and mirrored it also in her performance adding to the replica even more, a nice touch. Her presentation of being alone with just her computer providing the backing track gives the impression of a 'casual performance' which this wasn't by any measure. She put a lot of time into this without question, for whatever reason she chose to. I sort of feel she respects the piece on a personal level given her general connectivity to it as she performed. What that connectivity is based in I offer no guesses. I'll wager her fan base is debating if this is a statement of some sort. In my, and many community members it's the best cover of GLB! that we've seen so far in technical skill and connectivity. Nice way to start the day.
