Nightwish Live in Tampere 2015 'The Greatest Show On Earth' Deep Analysis
Wow, that was beyond deep...that was a metaphysical journey! I think I got it though by the end.

What a coincidence! I came here for the ATEEZ reactions and find you reacting to my other/previous favorite band of all time, Nightwish! Definitely a lot to be said about the thought and insight in this song and many of the more recent Nightwish albums. I love how Tuomas marvels at the wonder of earth and life even while lamenting the dark turns our history has taken on it in recent centuries. I loved this theory breakdown and appreciated hearing your metaphysical thoughts — because I certainly feel similarly. As someone who has devoted his life to music and the close study of its art, I imagine you couldn’t help but notice that there is so much beyond the physical that we are made of. Music is one of the swiftest ways to reach that larger energetic form that we truly are/natively are when not locked in time and space and a physical form. Please explore those themes more when appropriate (and these more philosophical recent Nightwish songs are not a bad place for that). That said, can you please react to some of their peak/golden age music like Ghost Love Score or Beauty OF the Beast?
Richard Dawkins. Not watts. This song and the whole album endless forms most beautiful was inspired by the book from Richard Dawkins Endless Forms Most Beautiful.
Looking forward to this.
I'm so glad that you got so much out of this very deep and meaningful song. Correction on one point. The narrator is not Alan Watts. It is Richard Dawkins, who wrote the book "The Greatest Show on Earth" which was a great influence on Tuomas and the rest of the band. I think that this song is one of the greatest accomplishments of Nightwish, along with "The Poet and the Pendulum". I hope that, in 100 years it is still being listened to and marvelled at. I'm going to link a good interpretation of the song, along with an explanation of many of the evolutionary and musical easter eggs that can be found. It's one person's opinion but I found the factual explanations helpful. https://medium.com/option-x/why-nightwishs-the-greatest-show-on-earth-is-also-one-of-the-greatest-songs-dfc703f658a3
I believe the fireworks are meant to signify the big bang.
I was thinking the same thing
What a treat, Tim!
