I can’t believe I’m paying for this amateur assessment. So ridiculous that you’re not comparing the right versions.
That part definitely wasn't cut in the movie itself so they must have shortened it for that lyrics video. It's so interesting how different these versions are. As opposed to many of the other songs, the instrumentation is almost identical in both, but the vocal performances are so different it feels like two completely different songs to me.
I think you might be listening to the short version that they released lol. The full version is also on YouTube!
I might redo this then!
I would love for you to dissect I’m Here with Cynthia Erivo. There is a video out there of her taken during the Broadway performance.
I would love to do that one also!
Just wanted to say, I don't think it was truncated! I'm comparing the lyrics now for both versions and they look the same to me. I did get a bit confused during the stop start format in the video though, as you sometimes weren't stopping at the same place every time, so that might be it :)
After “because I knew you” there’s a melody repeat of it in the orchestra that wasn’t there in the movie that’s there on the broadway. But someone said they think I did the shortened version from the movie.
