Just watching this — Rosalía has cited Frank Ocean as a favorite artist — good call there on recognizing it is Frank-Ocean like! I’m sure that’s where she was inspired from!
About the closing phrases of this song. This is what Spanish Genius is saying: These words come from an infamous moment involving boxer Mike Tyson and could be interpreted as a corruption of innocence or a toxic relationship. On January 22, 2002, during a press conference held in New York to promote a fight against Lennox Lewis, a fight broke out between the two boxers and their respective entourages. After the fight, Tyson approached the edge of the podium, grabbed his crotch, and began shouting obscenities at someone in the audience, who was later assumed to be Lewis's mother or a female photographer. He then heard freelance journalist Mark Malinowski suggest that he should wear a straitjacket, prompting him to launch into another tirade of profanity, this time directed at Malinowski. He repeatedly referred to the reporter as a “cowardly white boy” and a “faggot,” and ended his speech by swearing that he would “fuck [Malinowski] until [he] wanted to.” The brawl at the press conference for this fight was named Event of the Year 2002 by The Ring magazine. If you listen to her previous albums, El Mal Querer and Motomami you'll understand better her creative mind. It is out of the box but it's still very Rosalía for the people that know her discography. The reggaeton songs were actually outliers in terms of what we are used to from her. She just can do anythign she puts her mind into
Amazing reaction!! So many thanks!! I did recomended you at Yebba's, i think, you should check "Me quedo contigo" Rosalía at Goya's 19 performance, she is really really amazing, as Ren... i hope they collab some day!!
For more Björk reactions, I think Big Time Sensuality is a great early example of her distinctive singing, where she makes a wide variety of vocalizations. You also might like to react to Where Is The Line, since it features a beatboxer.
I LOVE Björk so id be excited to see him review any of her work!
Artistic balls, lol! Yes, that’s it
Great reaction, I totally share your excitement about this level of artistic balls. Björk’s voice is so sentimental to me. Her album Debut was my way in to not middle of the road music.
