Mint Fantome- 'Snake Eater' Reaction 【ミント・ファントーム 歌枠切り抜き】
Shout out to Patreon member Bossjoe for this recommendation on that October Song Request Post! Sorry, I forgot to mention you in the front of the video!
Such an unexpected type of song to be in a video game. I really enjoyed comparing Mint Fantome's singing to the original artists singing.

I'm here for my kami oshi mint fantome but I feel like I am learning something with each video :) I love the internet
She has a really strong mixed sound, I think it really comes out when she sings WaYaWaYaWa−! by Asaka which is also in the unofficial archive. She's also sung Break Stuff by Limp Bizkit as far as grit goes, but decided to stop doing it for her voice's sake.
Hey Tim! Mint Fantome fan (Wisp) here! While i've caught your videos on YouTube and really enjoyed them, I subscribed SPECIFICALLY for this video when I saw it listed on the IronMouse/Calli "How It's Done" reaction on YouTube. I just had to hear what you thought of Mint! As it has already been mentioned - Mint Fantome is a super fan of the Metal Gear franchise, and the eye patch is indeed a reference to the games. There are videos of her reacting to scenes from the games, she has played the games live on stream, she sneaks references to the games into her animations sometimes, and she knows the lore inside and out. It is one of her dreams to be involved with the franchise directly in one way or another. In a heartbreaking twist, she had the opportunity to help with the advertising campaign under a different alias as part of a Vtuber agency - and they never informed her of the chance. She didn't find out about it until it was too late. This agency, while still active, has a VERY troubling past when it comes to mistreating their talent. As for Mint herself, she truly is a talented singer, and a huge fan of the Idol culture. Her Karaoke streams are a ton of fun, and while she isn't always as serious as she was for this song, it's always a good time. Some of the other most popular examples of her singing beautifully is her cover of "Santa Baby" or her duet with Elizabeth Rose Bloodflame singing "Die with a Smile." In a reaction to "Santa Baby," fellow Vtuber Matara-Kan stated that Mint hasn't even gotten close to showing her true talent with singing online, as she is an absolute BEAST at Karaoke with friends. I'm really happy to hear you enjoyed our ghost maid's singing! I don't know your thoughts on Metal music, but I would LOVE to hear your thoughts on OBKATIEKAT and Futakuchi Mana performing "Contraband" or Apricot (Aka Froot) performing "Sunkiller!"
For that tree frog line in the song, It refers to how the charecter Snake will eat/use a tree frog for survival purposes since it's a tactical survival/infiltration game set in a jungle.
Mint is also a Big fan of the Metal Gear game series, so this is a special song for her to sing.
Really happy you enjoyed this one. She has an incredible voice. The game is an espionage story like a Bond film. That is why the theme song is so jazzy. As for the Karaoke streams she does them fairly regularly. She loves to sing! Vtubers who do karaoke though will often not save them, this protects them from any DMCA's and such. This is why we often rely on these clippers for unofficial recordings of them.
I know there recently has been a remake of MGS 3 but I only ever played the original back in the day so my memory when this song is in the game is somewhat hazy. I definitely know it plays for the first time during the intro which at the time felt very bond movie inspired in visuals(not gameplay) and song. If I am wrong on this I am sure somebody else will be able to clarify.
It plays in the game during the infamous LADDER scene. Where near the start the game during infiltration you come across a ladder that takes about 2 minutes to fully climb.
She doesn’t always have the eye patch. It’s just a toggle that she can use for her model when she wants to use it haha this was also a karaoke stream she did. It’s very popular for vtuber to do a karaoke stream like once a month or so for the ones that like to sing! Those were the songs that she sang during her stream.
That was a great lesson in vocal differences. I enjoyed the song by both singers.
