Paveway II Delivery Profiles: Video & Tacview Tracks (10/25)

This tenth entry marks the conclusion of the main series on self-lasing employment of Paveway II laser-guided bombs in DCS World. The purpose of this video is to bring together all the material covered in previous articles, i.e. level bombing, dive bombing (direct, circling, and pop-up), as well as loft and toss delivery, and illustrate their execution in real-time examples.

This official Raytheon data sheet includes the various delivery methods that were described in my previous posts.

Each profile is demonstrated with synchronized HUD, TGP, and external views, along with the Tacview tracks for a comprehensive view of aircraft geometry, release conditions, and post-release behavior. Where applicable, kneeboard data is overlaid to support the discussion with the actual figures used during planning.

To allow further study and analysis, I’ve included the Tacview recordings for all runs in the attached files. A custom .xml overlay is also provided and can be merged into each track. It displays computed release distances along with the expected final attack headings.

While this video concludes the part of the series focused on self-designation tactics, the work continues. The next article will begin exploring buddy lasing options—starting with ground-based designators such as JTACs or Special Forces operators, followed by airborne lasing coordination between assets.

As always, I welcome your feedback or requests for specific cases or scenarios. If you’ve found the series useful for refining your approach or planning your missions, I encourage you to revisit any of the kneeboards or articles available here.

Thank you !

Note: the kneeboards showcased in this video are available here; future upgrades and additions (buddy-lasing) will be accessible here as well.
