Release date - Clown Squad Part 2

Hello, my dears! Hope you're all doing great!

Where do I even start... Oh, right.

THE RELEASE!

Release dates:

Deathwatch Captain — 20 September
Interrogator — 25 September
Guardsman — 2 October
Acolyte — 9 October
Scribe — 12 October
Public Release — 16 October

Now, about the update itself... Overall, I think it turned out pretty decent, in my humble opinion.

Even though we'll still be spending most of our time with... Rose and Alice, occasionally getting distracted by the other ladies... I tried to give every girl at least a little bit of personal attention. So, overall... you'll get to learn a little more about pretty much everyone.

And, as always, I tried to work on the pacing and dialogue, making the conversations feel a little more... alive? Did I succeed? I'd give myself a solid 6/10, which I'm actually pretty happy with. (Still plenty of room for improvement, though.)

As for the H-scene... I actually had preparations for a second scene, but in the end, I decided to remove it. Why? It happened too quickly, felt awkward, and honestly... kind of pointless. (Not quite on the level of the first scene with Anya, but still.)

And unfortunately, after getting some feedback, I'm not completely satisfied with the ending either. Everyone says it's... fitting? And for some reason, I'm not entirely happy with that. I originally wanted to create something closer to the ending with Lena. But well... that's something to keep in mind for the future.

Bugs have been fixed, quick events have been added, choices now lead into future content, along with some UI changes, and—

Oh, right! I also added a cheat button, similar to the one in the space opera (Astreon), for anyone whose saves decide to explode. (And honestly, there's a pretty decent chance that might happen.)

As for the map, lore, ranks, and all the other complicated, less exciting, and currently unnecessary worldbuilding stuff... I'll add all of that later to a proper codex for anyone interested in digging deeper into the world. (I'll try to get it done by the public release.)

Now, for some numbers:

1,900 renders
8,000 lines of code
Around 30,000+ words
And somewhere around 50 new music tracks/compositions

And... I think that's about it. At least, that's everything related to Clown Squad.

I'm planning to work on Part 3 after the next Astreon update, because, frankly... I'm burned out. Now...

THE SPACE OPERA! - ASTREON!

With everything I've learned while working on C.S., I finally feel confident enough to return to this wonderful, somewhat misunderstood game.

So, what are the plans? First, I'm going to completely go through everything I've already written for 0.5.

Then I'll reread the entire game from beginning to end, figure out what works and what doesn't, and finally start paying off some of the things I've set up earlier - answering questions and resolving plot threads that have been hanging around for a while. (No rework)

And there's a chance... That the best solution for all of this is going to be a complete change of pacing. Instead of Astreon's constant fast-paced action, I want to try combining the slower pacing of Clown Squad with Astreon's speed.

Which means... We're probably going to spend a lot more time on the elf planet than I originally planned.

Also, regarding the ending of 0.3.5... That's been put into a very distant drawer for now. I have a couple of ideas for how I could make it work, but to actually pull them off properly... I need more time.

Sooo... That's where things stand right now. And that's enough about the games.

Now I'm going to complain about myself for a bit, for those of you who are interested.

And for those who aren't... Take care, and I wish you all the best!

Ahem... So! It's already been... Three months since the last release! And even though I originally planned to finish this part by the end of September, my mental and physical health had other plans.

Because of that, there's a pretty good chance I'll take a forced break for at least a week before I start writing Astreon again. And in general, I'm going to try to work a little more freely, without constantly thinking: "I HAVE TO FINISH THESE 100 RENDERS TODAY!"

But! I also don't want, and honestly can't bring myself, to leave you without updates for too long. So here's a question for you: Would you prefer smaller updates released more often, or bigger updates released less frequently?

There are a few other things I could talk about, but maybe another time. I think that's more than enough for now. And if you actually made it all the way to the end... Thank you.
Seriously. Thank you for caring about this little creation of mine. You guys are the best! And...

Thank you all for your support!

Take care, and I'll see you again next week!
(P.S. Oh, and Android has a new save system now. Yay!)

I like smaller updates more frequently, but of course it depends on which approach is easier for you.

Woohoo! CS is coming!! And looking forward to Astreon WIP! My answer for the question would be for Astreon I prefer with bigger updates since I like space lores and it's romance. Also since you said CS is more on the slower pacing then I'd like it to release more often with smaller updates.. to "catch up"? anw this is my opinion, dont know with others. Both of your AVNs are great and Interesting, so.. Best wishes to you dev, always always stay healthy and hydrated.

If it means keeping updates steady and you from getting seriously burnt out i personally dont mind waiting longer for larger updates. Used to it with eternum and its one of my favorite visual novels to date. In general your health always comes first so do whatever is easiest for you
