📢 Update 0.0.9 — Debbie & Raven Events + 10 New Languages

❤️ New Content

• Added a Story Event with Debbie in the Bathroom, featuring 72 static renders and 3 animations with 16 camera angles.

• Added a Party Story Event with Debbie and Raven in the Living Room, featuring 77 static renders and 2 animations with 13 camera angles.

In total this update includes 149 static renders, 5 unique animations with 29 different camera angles.

🌍 Localization

• Added full support for 10 new languages: German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Dutch, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Russian.

• Added fonts with proper glyph coverage for Cyrillic, Japanese, and Korean so text displays cleanly across the new languages.

📦 Windows Builds

The Windows build is now split into two versions:

• Standard (~1 GB) — great for monitors up to about 27 inches.

• HD (~9 GB) — recommended for larger screens where you will actually see the extra resolution.

If you are on a laptop or a regular desktop monitor, Standard should look just fine. For bigger displays, go with HD.

🔄 Gameplay & UI Improvements

• Completely reworked how the game handles non-16:9 screens (phones and ultrawide monitors). Instead of cropping the image, the game now adds letterbox or pillarbox bars so the full art always stays intact.

• For anyone who prefers not to look at solid black bars, there is also a dynamic blurred border mode that fills the empty space with a soft blur of the current scene.

  • Note: blur borders are more demanding and may not run well on weaker devices.

• The back button in the dialogue printer no longer opens the full message log. It now simply steps back through previous lines, which feels much more natural mid-conversation.

• Pressing ESC now opens the pause menu.

• Skip mode is no longer aggressively fast. Passing through text should feel smoother and easier to control.

🐛 Bug Fixes

• Fixed SFX volume during animations. Some animation sounds previously ignored the SFX slider and always played at full volume. They now correctly respect your settings.

• Fixed characters swapping places when loading a save.

• Improved compatibility with older saves. The game now tries harder to recover when loading an outdated save file, and if a save is critically corrupted you can still copy the log for troubleshooting.

• Added logging for black screen issues on launch to make those cases easier to diagnose.

• Plus general polish and a batch of smaller bug fixes throughout the game.

💬 Developer Notes

First of all, I am really sorry it took so long to get a new update out. I know the wait has been long, and I genuinely appreciate everyone who stuck around and kept supporting the project through it.

That said, I wanted this one to feel worth the wait. This is a big update, just the two new story events alone should take around 60 minutes to play through, and on top of that there is a lot of quality of life work I had been wanting to finish for a while.

The Debbie bathroom story and the party scene with Raven both took a lot of care. I am really happy with how they turned out, and the render and animation count for this patch is one of the densest I have shipped so far.

I also finally figured out a solid workflow for localization, which is something I had been struggling with for a long time. Until now the game was English only, so shipping ten new languages with this update feels like a real milestone. I hope it feels good to play in your own language. If anything looks off in a translation, or if you notice something strange in general, please drop a message in Discord. Honest feedback of any kind would mean a lot to me.

On the technical side, the aspect ratio work was long overdue. Phones and ultrawide monitors should finally show the full art properly instead of cutting it off. Between that, save recovery, pause on ESC, and a pile of smaller fixes, the game should feel more solid whether you are on a phone, a laptop, or a wide monitor.
