A Quick Peek at Lucy's Sprite Update
I'm going to be updating a lot of the older sprites to align with the quality of the newer girls in the next update. Lucy is the first one to get the treatment, so here is a sneak peek at how the her first stage will look in the next update.
Due to popular demand I also included the WIP for her original facial expression.

I feel like t he skirt for default might be a tad too short? Like it doesnt fit her atm, so maybe after stage 2 this is the length?

Although I'm not sure if it makes sense for the new outfit she wears after stage 6, do you think you'd be willing to add back in the shine Hazel had on her belly on the pre-stage 7 sprites? The earlier sprites really sold that feeling of 'stuffed' by making the belly look taught - after stage 6 that feeling felt a bit diminished.
I do plan on adding some highlights to most of the characters where it makes sense so I think I could try. It's generally kind of hard to sell texture with pixel art so I decided against using highlights on her sweater, but I think there may be a way to make it work.
Love the new detail with her hair! Really brings a lot of volume and shape. But I'm like some of the other stick-in-the-mud types here, I just love her OG face too much! Something about how her eyes look intense and a bit forlorn, it speaks to me. As you said in other comments, perhaps there's a middle ground. Also, extremely excited to se what kind of updates Sophia gets. (Since she's best girl.)
I hope to see more character CGs, just like Mia. I hope you keep up the good work and continue creating.
The hair and eyes are a big improvement! And I prefer the new expression to the thousand yard stare she was rocking before lol, though I can understand why some like it
I like it, the details on her hair and face are sharper and I like her hair being more vivid. She does look a little bit less like a vampire now lol
The colours and shading look way better - I like this style a decent chunk more. I'd probably say I prefer the old expression/pose more but I'm open to seeing how things go with the later stages.

Very cute, glad to see my favourite girl getting updated. Since you're updating Lucy the only thing I've always been a bit sad about is the loss of her thighhighs in the higher stages. Do you plan to keep her with the black tights in the later stages?
Don't really intend on making sweeping changes to outfits but I am working on some alternate outfits and poses based on location so I'll keep the thigh highs in mind.
I love the detail in the hair, are you open to being more faithful to the original hair color? I understand the darker tone allows for better highlighting though. Maybe there's a shade just a bit lighter that doesn't dilute the highlights?
Yeah, I think i could desaturate it a bit, though that also affects contrast so it could make it look a bit more flat. I'll probably test some alternate colors too, maybe in the future the player could choose alternate colors for each girl given renpy kind of supports shaders

Interesting. In your opinion which girls need the most touching up? The current sprites are fine to me, but I must admit I do like what you've done with Lucy.
I do plan on animating faces for the characters in the next update so every girl will get a couple light touch ups, not as big as lucy but just adjusting colors, adding some details such as shadows for hair and maybe some new expressions. IMO Sophia is in the most need of some love since she only has two tone shading for many of her earlier sprites so they will be getting some minor adjustments.

Crazy glow up, not that the old sprite isn’t very cute, but seeing them side by side really highlights the difference
I like the new work that you've done, but if I'm gonna be honest, I think the older sprite has its own more unique character to it in the broader space on here
I am still experimenting so nothing is set in stone yet, but if this is the consensus I think I could whip up some kind of middleground quite easily
Tbh I thought it was intentional that her eyes look like that, likes she comes off really intense despite being shy. This is cute though
I do intend to keep it as an expression that she will have sometimes, but as a default I think it's a bit much
That's quite a glow up so much more definition that I wouldn't have notice sticks out a ton side by side
