I bought an RGDS on Facebook marketplace. Everything works fine just when I connect to Wi-Fi on one network. It won’t let me connect to a different network. It’ll even crash the system settings and make me reboot it but even then it would just go through a cycle until I completely erase everything and and restart it. Has anyone had this issue? I will say it already had the OS on the device and this is the first I’m hearing about a password.

I keep getting "wrong password" when i try to extract. Anyone else having this issue?

I've set up gamma on my rg ds but there's a problem with putting the ds on sleep when closing. Whenever I close the ds, whatever app i use just resets and I've lost progress on games like that. Is there someway to get around this?

Great performance! The touch response feels like butter with the new polling rate. I'm just trying to get used to the dual-screen management. Sometimes I open the launcher on both screens and it drives me crazy! hahah

After a month of redoing my device several times due to corruption, I'm kinda done. If you need to store any apps on your SD card, this build will corrupt your SD card within a few days. Yes, there's a note about it when you're formatting the device, but it isn't mentioned before paying to download. I genuinely wish I just waited until it was made available for free because since the RG DS only has 32GB of internal storage, external storage is necessary especially after scraping all your ROMs with the included launcher. It's a shame because this runs really well when it's not locked up. I've tried both builds out for a couple of weeks each and really enjoyed them. The lite build gives you enough performance to play GameCube rather well with an optimized version of Dolphin, while the full version is nice if you want to make full use of Android without running into some apps and features that need Google Play services. Watching YouTube TV while playing Super Mario Run or GTA San Andreas on the other screen is the kind of multitasking that makes this device feel like a more modern DS and GammaOS can do it really well unless you run into one of these external storage issues down the road like I have. Unfortunately, it's something that doesn't appear to happen with just one micro SD card either. I've got several spares of varying brands and capacities and even my Samsung, SanDisk and TeamGroup cards all had the same issue after a while. Thank you for the effort. Please fix storing apps on external storage, it'll make this build more than worth the money you're asking if you do.

I still can connect to other wifi's after chaing the hostname but sometimes the wifi turns off and can not find any networks anymore. Only solution is a reboot.

It's great, but setting any kind of screen lock is completely broken on the RG DS and renaming the device breaks wifi in a way so it refuses to connect to anything but an already saved network.

Is there a way to play solely on the top screen while the one below is turned off ? I can only work with the bottom one while the top one is turned off. (on retroarch or psp emulation)

Hey guys is anyone having issues opening settings or the dropdown menu I installed the lite version and I can only open games and apps can’t close them open or open settings

Love the Gamma Shader that applies a universal LCD pixel shader that just makes it feel like a big ole fancy DS. If we had some Shader settings to tweak it a bit to our taste, it would be the cherry on top of this feature.

Great work. I stopped using the RGDS because it slowed down too much playing Solatorobo (a DS title). Hope this makes it worth playing again.

Hey, I'm having big problems on putting gamma os on my RG DS stock fresh out of the box, I helped my brother set it up smoothly, first try, but mine just came and did the same thing, but when I boot up, it doesn't flash the console and set up gamma, but boots stock os and normal screen, I'm stuck and I'm worried about what to do next...

Thank you! When a game close from retroarch, dosent go the the bottom screen automaticly, you have to touch the screen, it stays on top screen. Can you make that, after the game closes, the main screen to go on bottom ?? EDIT: I had to use Tasker to resolve this, also beacon is much better than daijisho.

Hey all! So GammaOS Next has made DS stuff look and perform quite a bit better than stock - touch feels more responsive too. However, battery drain, sleep/wake, and charging all feel buggier than stock. It's actually gotten kind of annoying that I have to fiddle with the device in some way every time I open it up (having to wait for it to respond or pressing the power button multiple times to get it to wake), and the battery seems to get down to ike 20% overnight after a full charge, and stock wasn't nearly that bad for me. Hopefully, a future update can help with some of these issues.

Hi everyone! I've tried both Console launcher and Beacon launcher. I prefer to use the console launcher, but as of now, I don't think the RGDS can handle it. Beacon launcher, on the other hand, works great, scrapes box art, and launches DS games correctly. Beacon launcher is pretty lightweight, so don't expect too many options in terms of customization. Since I don't have Google Play, I had to download the APKs.

Does anyone else have issue with after shutting down or going to sleep, RG DS does not wake up anymore? Not even charging light lits when charging. Somehow, taking off the battery and pushing volyme down + power key i managed to resurrect my console. But same thing happened again.. Must i keep console powered on all the time to prevent this from happening?

When this thing occasionally gets stuck mirroring the top and bottom homescreen together how are you guys fixing it?

Hey guys, have anyone noticed a battery drain issues? I've seen that if I put it on sleep mode, the baterry goes down a lot, why is that? Should I just turn it off for the night if I'll not use it?

Hello, I made a bootable SD Card (512gb) via Rufus and the GammaOS Lite version, but the RG DS will not flash, it just starts up to its original OS. Any ideas on this?

wifi picks and chooses when it wants to work. this has been a thing on stock and gamma. ive seen others posting similar wifi issues, some resolve by clicking the reset in the wifi options. for me if it doesnt return network results it wont work. I have to reboot several times and get lucky

Sometimes when I close a ds game the both screens show the launcher and only the upper screen respond to touch. Didn't find any way to fix it, only by restarting the device

Hey Gamma, I'm trying to remap the Anbernic button on the RG DS. Where can I go for that? I've tried under the buttons settings, but it's still bringing up the notification panel

For those who are having issues with the device not booting, after a fresh install or after a crash, try unplugging the battery and plugging it back in.

I've got the same problem a couple of other people have mentioned. It rebooted to an orange Anbernic logo and sticks there. I can't reflash Gamma or the original firmware. Think I'm bricked.

I try to open the firmware but the sd tool always fail to open the file after i click create

When there's an update for this will it auto update? Or where do I get that update, thanks

Thanks gamma. This is some great stuff you did here, anbernic should really just contract you at this point. Would it be possible to add in the feature to use 2 different wallpapers though? And potentially a button to bring up the software keyboard on the navigation bar?

Thank you gamma! Dual stack in artemis streaming app has been an excellent way to play 3ds on this device and be able to upscale it a bit too.

This appears to have bricked my device. The install was successful and I played briefly, then told the device to restart. It is now completely unresponsive. Update: Disconnecting and reconnecting the battery revived it. Looks like the same issue that happens between Rocknix and GammaOS, but I never used Rocknix, so I'm not sure what caused it.

It's a nice and clean OS now but I don't know about the performance. Played around with it and have two of them. Even though Dualstack does a better job at combining bot screens it does not make a whole lot of difference for the games I play. Most games perform the same as stock. Great job all the less but for now I stick to Linux Rocknix which has bigger performance gains for my daily usage. Keep up the good work.

Its a small annoyance I have with android in general. Every card you put in android creates the default folders: .$Trash$/ .android_secure/ Alarms/ Android/ Audiobooks/ DCIM/ Documents/ Download/ LOST.DIR/ Movies/ Music/ Notifications/ Pictures/ Podcasts/ Recordings/ Ringtones/

Worked a treat. I used Mint Linux and Pi imager to burn image, Windows 11 just kept giving image writing errors. So good to be able to use the RG DS to it full potential. Thanks

I have noticed when using dual stack with drastic. If I put the console to sleep then wake it up and quit the game through the drastic menu Daijisho launches on both screens and won’t respond to touch and I have to reboot the device to get things to work properly again.

I cannot get it to boot I tried multiple times to flash the Img to sd card it is a high quality sd card and I tried with raspberry pi imager and balena etcher and multiple times tried to install on device and gets stuck on orange ambernic screen every time and I did lite version and waited hours like 4 on one attempt and still did not move past on any attempts Dug Further and 7zip is saying Data error : Wrong password? : RG_DS_GammaOS_Lite_v1.2.2_SDCARDINSTALL.img I made sure it was copied correctly and does not work

Man you are a savior for this device ! I was so disappointed with the stock os that i almost decided to sell it , I've been waiting for this release & the performance is on next level for DS titles.And not just performance the overall experience of using this device is improved, now it really feels like a handheld console & less like a cheap android that it used to be. I am working on SD card images for flashing instead of using Fastboot. Should resolve flashing errors. Will be able to create the update card using dd/balena/rufus etc. Will be uploaded today

ive done the process twice, and when the system boots, it looks like the device is killing the homescreen and restarting it, resulting in the lower screen turning off then on again. Using the lite image. external sd card is not installed when this happened.

Not a super techy guy, but I did a clean install and followed every instruction to the letter. GammaOS Next Lite is now on my RG DS with no problems during install. However, it's running 70% of the CPU at rest and 95%+ when playing GBA games. What's a good way to get that down?

Hello - When I try to load a 3ds game in both .3ds and .cci format, the top screen seems to load for a bit and then goes black while the 2nd screen remains in the library section. Any help is appreciated, thanks

Running into an issue when running the flashpartitions.bat , Connected ADB devices: Connected Fastboot devices: [Info] No ADB or Fastboot device detected yet. [Info] Check that your RG DS is connected, powered on, and that drivers are installed. [Info] Checking again in 5 seconds... I am able to detect the device using the Open CMD.bat in the ADB and Fastboot++ file folder. I am also able to boot into fastbootd on the device. Any ideas?
