Welcome to the Teachings of Neville Goddard: SERIES I - Foundation of Conscious Creation (week 8)

Lesson 8 – Contemplation and Assimilation

“We become what we contemplate.”

“You and I can contemplate an ideal and become it by falling in love with it.”

— Neville Goddard, No One to Change But Self (1948)

In this week’s lesson let’s Contemplate the essence of Lessons 5-7 so that we can better Assimilate them.

Lesson 5 – Imagination: Breaking it Down/Raising it Up - Neville’s implicit trust in Imagination

Lesson 6 – Inspiration, Desire, Aspiration and Experience - Breathing in/Breathing out: Being inspired to experience with Open Arms

Lesson 7 – The Bubble: Sanctuary of Abundance - Imagination creates our Home

We are allowing the gift of Neville room in our lives. After all, imagination is our lives, and we desire to make them nourishing and resplendent, right?

Neville always spurs us on with his zeal, but also asks us: “Where are you Living?”

And to that I might add – How are we living?

As I am thinking over this, I sense the layers of the house we are building:

1) Lesson 5 is the Foundation/Structure – the belief, the conviction

2) Lesson 6 is the flooring – taking in the fact that we are master creators in training and our house is under construction

3) Lesson 7 is the Interior Design – our Bubble, our dwelling place, as we see how beautiful it can be

The cool thing about our creation process is that nothing is set in stone. Any minute of any day we can choose to revise, to change, to improve, to bless, to accept even more lovely things than we did before. To make our house a temple of Beingness, as we see fit.

-------

For our practice . . .

Continue as long as you like – perhaps using the Inner Smile/Open Arms audio --

Let us breathe in golden light, entering the crown, going to the base. Pause a few seconds.

On the out breath, blow out and release memories, tension, unbelief, and who you thought you were. Pause and let the light swirl at the crown.

With one more in breath, let the golden light radiate joy and the essence of peace as it enters our hearts with the thought, “I AM the Light of the Heart! I AM the Light of the World!”

The Builders

by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807–1882)

All are architects of Fate,

Working in these walls of Time;

Some with massive deeds and great,

Some with ornaments of rhyme.

Nothing useless is, or low;

Each thing in its place is best;

And what seems but idle show

Strengthens and supports the rest.

For the structure that we raise,

Time is with materials filled;

Our to-days and yesterdays

Are the blocks with which we build.

Truly shape and fashion these;

Leave no yawning gaps between;

Think not, because no man sees,

Such things will remain unseen.

In the elder days of Art,

Builders wrought with greatest care

Each minute and unseen part;

For the Gods see everywhere.

Let us do our work as well,

Both the unseen and the seen;

Make the house, where Gods may dwell,

Beautiful, entire, and clean.

Else our lives are incomplete,

Standing in these walls of Time,

Broken stairways, where the feet

Stumble as they seek to climb.

Build to-day, then, strong and sure,

With a firm and ample base;

And ascending and secure

Shall to-morrow find its place.

Thus alone can we attain

To those turrets, where the eye

Sees the world as one vast plain,

And one boundless reach of sky.

Neville Goddard – The Law and the Promise (1961)

excerpted from Chapter 2: Dwell Therein

Man, through the medium of a controlled, waking dream, can predetermine his future.

If we live in the dream — thinking from it, and not of it — then the creative power of imagining will answer our adventurous fancy, and the wish fulfilled will break in upon us and take us unawares.

Man is all imagination; therefore, man must be where he is in imagination, for his imagination is himself.

To realize that imagination is not something tied to the senses or enclosed within the spatial boundary of the body is most important.

However real the scene on which sight rests, man can gaze on one never before witnessed.

He can always remove the mountain if it upsets his concept of what life ought to be.

This ability to mentally move from things as they are to things as they ought to be, is one of the most important discoveries that man can make.

It reveals man as a center of imagining with powers of intervention

which enable him to alter the course of observed events,

moving from success to success

through a series of mental transformations

of nature, of others, and himself.

And now, let us go into the Silence . . .
