Suggestion for a New Beverly retrospective: Ted Kotcheff's Australian masterpiece "Wake In Fright" followed by his Stollone collaboration "First Blood" and then his comic masterpiece "Weekend at Bernie's" what a combo!

Fan from Down Under. Love the New Bev. Attended a screening of "Prom Night 2" in March 2023.

It was a great event! I enjoyed every minute of the film and discussion after. I never equated Alain Delon with violent action before, but there it was in glorious 35mm.

Like how could the main character do all that killing for vengeance and then be just so gullible and get his ass killed like that lol! Like the whole movie was pretty kickass and then that ending just disappointed the fuck out of me lol!

It was a really fun night, thanks for doing it! I can't believe we actually got in - we didn't get in line until 4:30ish. I guess I was 6 when Robocop came out. I wanted to see it badly, but I wasn't allowed. However, my dad worked at Orion at the time, and he got me a vhs dub of it with the most violent scenes roughly edited out (like, they paused the recorder when the violent scene was about to start, and then resumed the dub when the violent scene ended). All to protect my fragile little mind. I still loved the movie. I don't think I saw it in all its glory until a screening at either the Aero or the New Bev when I was pushing 30. And wow, the intense violence really kicks it up a notch. Or 20 notches.
