Can we talk about William Hurt in Rare Birds? Very interesting, quirky movie.
I was so impressed with punch drunk love when it came out that I tracked down the article in time magazine that PTA used as a starting point (the man who bought pudding to get frequent flyers miles) I even wrote to the guy who actually used pudding to get frequent flyer miles and asked him what he thought about the movie. And I remember this guy writing back to me and he said he liked it but he didn’t have that many sisters that Adam Sandler’s character had in the movie.
Sandler was committed to Judd Apatow’s Funny People, which was why he couldn’t do Inglorious Basterds.
