Your FH6 mod questions answered

Now that Forza Horizon 6 has officially entered into early access, I'm sure you've all got questions around what the future of my Patreon looks like.

The good news - mods will continue being possible in FH6.

In fact, the image you see on this post is using the latest version of Better Car Liveries, making the stripes of this Ford GT paintable via advanced paint groups 🎨

Stick around to the end of this post to claim two free cars which I've been testing Better Car Liveries with! 🎉👇

I'll share what I know and what you can expect around here in future down below:

  • Will you be creating mods for FH6?

Yes, but it might be a while before a proper release whilst I get things set up.

  • Can using mods in FH6 get me banned?

As with using any mods in Forza titles, there is always a risk of getting banned. It's impossible to say at this stage, but caution would be advised.

  • Will you still make mods for FH5?

At the moment, I will be focusing on getting things set up for FH6. I'm not sure if I will return to creating mods for FH5, but I'd always welcome your feedback on what mods I should create in the future.

Other things to note:

I've noticed that livery stickers are now permanent by default on most (if not all) cars, meaning that when you change the colour they no longer disappear.

This was a core feature of Better Car Liveries, however things like stripes and trim are still not paintable on these cars - that's where my mod pack can keep adding value for all of my patrons.

What you've been waiting for:

I've added functionality to paint the stripes of two cars:

  • 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray

  • 2005 Ford GT

These were just to test that things are working, but I still have more I need to get set up. However, please do download these two and give them a go!

To change the colour of the stripes, head over to body advanced paint group 2.

Install instructions:

For Microsoft Store versions:

  • Make sure your game is installed to the XboxGames folder and not to the default location of Microsoft Store apps (if you're not sure how to do this, check out this handy YouTube video by AidanBenny)

  • Navigate to XboxGames\Forza Horizon 6\Content\media\cars

  • THIS STEP IS REALLY IMPORTANT! Back up both of the original car zip files somewhere else on your PC in case you wish to restore the original cars

  • Once you've backed up the original files somewhere else, replace them with the files included in this post

For Steam versions:

  • Find the game in your Steam library, right click on it, and choose Manage>Browse local files

  • Navigate to media\Cars

  • Follow the rest of the steps above for the Microsoft Store version, making sure to back up the original files somewhere else
