State of Sterling: Wait, Bobby Kotick Was EVIL This Whole Time!?

Just a quick update this time, as I want to let y’all know about the next video. As Podquisition listeners may know, a new Hi-Steph was gonna go up on Monday - of course, it did not. I had my previously mentioned script about YouTube ready to record, and then a certain document about a certain wealthy nonce and his wealthy nonce friends appeared, revealing something many of us knew - Bobby Kotick loved hanging out with nonces and plotting the ruin of civilization.
Oh, and he fucked Epstein’s wife. I didn’t previously know that… I wish I still didn’t.
Anyway, I felt it best to change course and work on a new script about that stuff with the plan to post it on Tuesday in a shocking first for the series. However, while Kotick and his friends like hurting kids, I occasionally take care of them - this past weekend I played host to two very neurodivergent boys who demand a lot of attention. I burned myself out and spent much of my work time keeping the eldest entertained and playing Fortnite duos with him (we actually make a pretty good team) before they both ramped up their interest in committing loud, exhausting chaos. I spent Monday absolutely shattered, and it’s at the point where just looping around to this upcoming Monday makes sense.
For different reasons, Podquisition is very slightly delayed to Friday instead of Thursday. Sorry for the brief wait, but Laura and Conrad have a lot to say about Mewgenics and we can’t publish the discussion until after the game’s review embargo.
Other than that, I want to thank y’all particularly hard today because I finally looked at the Patreon figures. I expected a significant dip, and would have understood it, but I was surprised as hell that things have held so steady. The fact there’s been almost no reduction in support following the long hiatus and move to irregular videos is not only encouraging, it’s downright flattering!
I feel it speaks to the belief y’all have in the work I do, as well as the trust that the show will deliver and that it has enough value to be worth funding on a quality over quantity basis. That means a hell of a lot.
Obviously it’s a relief to have a base of stable income as someone who decided to take up full-time writing in the era of AI Sloppitude, and I am very glad to know I can still keep Zilla, Laura, and Conrad paid up. The relief of security, however, is just one portion of the positivity. As always, your backing doesn’t just help from a practical standpoint, it’s meaningful on a personal level and a massive morale boost. Hell, it’s THE reason I didn’t throw in the towel on the many occasions my video work got fucked over.
It’s also particularly empowering following the disturbing revelation that those billionaire creeps wanted to drive all transfems into poverty so we’d be forced to do sex work for the enjoyment of the wealthy. Yes, that is an actual fucking thing the sickos plotted out, and somehow that’s only one portion of their layer cake of depravity.
Like, as unsurprised as I am at all their collusion, hatemongering, and abuse, the amount of unhinged wannabe supervillain shit is genuinely fucking shocking. These perverse parasites, Bobby Boy included, are pure evil.
Monday is coming, and we’ll get stuck into what a vile, evil little creature Bobby Kotick is, how he was using videogames as a means of corruption, and the literal island of pedophiles he loved so much. Much of what‘s come out about Kotick has been utterly vindicating, confirming everything I’ve said about predatory monetization and Activision is particular. I never, EVER, want to fucking hear about how microtransactions are necessary ever again.
It was never about need, it was always about greed. Now we have it on record from the greedy predators themselves.

See, told you you could take it easy with the videos and we'd still be here! :P The amount of "fork found in kitchen" with the files is shoking in an odd way... like it's unshocking in each of the facts but in how explicitely and deliberately every bad thing that happened in recent years was coordinated by the worst people you've heard of. The guy personally talking to Kotick about microtransactions went on to promote crypto chemes and later genAI. Even Joanne is more closely involved with the trafficking than I ever imagined. I would expect a few degrees of separation but no, the same group of people litteraly just went to the same party to plot the rotting of society in every concievable level, while commiting the most heinous shit I don't even want to think about. The caricatures of villains smoking cigars around a table was far too kind for them. Looking forward to your next video! You have your work cut out for you if you want to cover a fraction of what is being proven to be as you've been warning, oh modern Cassandra.
Yeah, it’s the open and knowing embrace of pure evil that’s shocking rather than the evil itself. They’ve shown not one ounce of anything other than cruel glee. And Rowling really can go fuck herself. Years of using “think of the children” to attack trans people, and she was rubbing shoulders with not just a child abuser, but the almost literal *king* of them. I’ve said before that the modern fascist uses blatant hypocrisy deliberately, salting the wound by demonstrating how selectively the rules are applied… but Rowling’s taken it to new and disgusting lows.

The news space is getting VERY cluttered at the moment, especially about Epstein, and there's so much fake stuff out there. Unfortunately the reality is that with 3+ million pages out there it's just impossible to really look at as an individual, and that's literally what the media is meant to be for. I miss the old days when journalist's word could be trusted, guaranteed to approach reality from as grounded a position as they could. But these days there's just so little incentive to be a truth teller, and so much pressure not to be. That's why we stick around, and will keep doing so. For your diligence, your integrity, your faithfulness to the truth. Because we know that we can trust you to bring us what you think is important, as plainly as possible, to help untangle the madness that is the modern world. It's not about timelines and schedules and quantity of any kind, at least not for me. Part of your job as a journalist is to figure out what and when and how to present your findings to us, and that can't be put on a rigid schedule without affecting the quality, as you well know. Thank god for you Steph, and thank you for being unrelentingly you. That kind of integrity is worryingly rare these days.

Ok very much excited for the upcoming video now and utterly appauled, as I didn't hear this stuff until now, but also not really surprised, which is sad enough in it's own right ^^* Also happy that you have the support you deserve even though you were expecting to loose more of it. I think it does really speak to the kind and quality of journalism and videos you make. And also to a kind of aura of integrity you have. Side note: oh yeah, children can be exhausting, especially the neurospicy kind xD but also very rewarding, my best friend's son is also neurodivergent and I offered to take him in for a few afternoons once I'm back in the same city.
