Kirby and the Forgotten Land: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Review - The $80 Grift Continues

I reviewed Kirby and the Forgotten Land: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. At an exceptional $80, it's got to be an exceptional game, right? Well, with those high standards in place, let's see how it fares (spoiler: it doesn't fare well, but that's business).

Wow, the comments section under the review went pretty well. The same Nintendo fans excusing this inexcusable price hike would've excoriated Sony if they did the same.

I've been enjoying Silksong for a whopping $20.

I love Kirby, and I loved Forgotten Land. But I absolutely HATE how they've handled this.

Where are all the people who kept telling me "oh $80 will be reserved for premium releases from Nintendo! Donkey Kong is only $70!" . Yet here we are. A friggin re-release that required almost no work is out for $80 to print more money for Nintendo. Can't wait to hear how the fanatics defend this one.

Extreme price points invite extreme scrutiny, thank you for continuing to maintain your standards against all pressure

$115 in Canada, if you can believe it. Sheer insanity.

As a Canadian, can confirm the insane game prices. Even Switch 1 games run on average about $80 these days.

I have yet to see a reason to upgrade to a Switch 2, especially considering my extensive Switch 1 library and after market joy-con replacements (that won't work on Switch 2).

There are what? 2 first party games that aren't a re-release and a few indies? Not worth it at all.
