Publishers desperately want to sign "The Next Balatro" because they are reactive losers who chase trends rather than lead markets. Will they ever find it, however, when games like Balatro are the antithesis of what these corpos stand for? No. No they won't.

Imagine if instead of searching through itch.io looking for things to content strike, AAA(A?) publishers looked for promising games to fund? Oh wait, that would take a brain.
