I'm so upset over what these executives DID to Steph Sterling
At a convention last weekend I heard the term "glass cliff". A "glass ceiling" is about how a marginalized person can only go so far in a business due to discrimination. A "glass cliff" is when a marginalized person is blamed for a project's failure (metaphorically thrown off a cliff). The quote about blaming a "woke" game's failure on being "woke" made me think of it.
Interesting concept. Not sure it entirely works (the ceiling is glass, IIRC, to create the illusion that upward mobility is possible) but a term for marginalized people being blamed is interesting. Trans people coming out and suddenly having "unsatisfactory" work is related (and relatable), and that needs a cliffesque term too.

EA continues to learn all the wrong lessons, if anything at all.
I doubt any lesson was learned. EA was always going to continue pumping out live service trash - this isn't a lesson, it's a pretext.
