With another slightly late devblog. I promise, they will be on schedule starting next week.

Since this week I couldn't really do any proper writing either, I did what I usually do when I am not writing. I thought about writing. I don't usually write in steps. I know that a lot of writers do their writing in steps. First draft. Revision. Second draft. And so on and so forth. I barely ever revise my scripts after I have written them, mostly because they usually go through multiple revisions in my head before I commit to anything. And this week I had a lot of time to work on these "revisions". It turned out to be a good thing too.

You see, when I was first outlining the storylines for the main cast, the outline usually ended on "and then they kiss". Yep. I was so uncertain on how to approach the sex scenes, that I ended the outline on kissing with a hope that I will somehow segue to sex from there. And surprisingly it was pretty simple for most girls. Elizabeth gave me a bit of a pause when I was planning the end of her storyline recently, but I think I figured out a good approach. But this week, I turned my gaze to Ciara, and Ciara was a problem. To be honest, Ciara's storyline was the one that got the most adjustments as it developed. As some of you might remember from previous devblogs, she started out as a "childhood friend" archetype. She was not supposed to have a real storyline at all. That quickly got changed to the story and character you know today, but the culmination of her story, well, it was very poorly fit for a sex scene. That had to be changed.

I was not planning on changing her storyline up to this point. And the general direction of her romance is set in stone for me at this point, but I needed to review and slightly redirect her final couple of event, so the actual romance starts a bit sooner and thus the sex scene comes more organically. I cannot say that I have a foolproof solution at this point, but it is a good thing that I caught on to it this early. I have several ideas that look very doable, and Ciara has enough unwritten events for me to work out the minor details and adjust her story accordingly. If push comes to shove, I might give her an extra event on top of the planned "eight per girl". It was more of a guideline than an actual law anyway.
