Writing Update 13/05/26
Good evening y'all.
Sorry to be a bother so late and for not posting this earlier. Work has been...work has been rough. I'll tell ya hwat.
Nonetheless! I've been hard at work!
Not...not that work, this work.
You know what I mean.
Without further ado. The vote was very close this time! Almost neck to neck, with Rage Against The Dark gathering 125 votes to He Who Fights Demons 132 votes at the Patreon.
However! Y'all at Subscribestar came in clutch, and with twelve more votes, Rage won with a combined total of 137!
It was honestly kinda thrilling to see the race be so close for a change. XD
Gallows Humors brought the rear at a combined total of 52.
I swear the moment I have some PTO lined up I will write a chapter of that story.
But side note! I've known the winner since Monday obviously. I was just too tired from work to make a post, my apologies.
That said! I've been hard at work writing during lunch! By which I mean, I scarf down my lunch in like, two minutes and then spend the rest of the time writing. And the chapter of Rage Against The Dark is already sitting at almost 2300 words! Feeling good about this one!
I've also put a bit into that Warcraft story I told y'all about. But I work on that one as I can, it's currently sitting at a few pages.
Y'all what supporting me on the Pat/Sub are gonna get an early look at the story. As a thank you. XD
That's all I got for tonight. Hope you have a good rest of your week. Look forward to a chapter of Rage Against The Dark this weekend!
When the boy who would one day become King gave his first cry, the very forests of the land whispered his name in quiet reverence.
Arthas.
Firstborn son of King Terenas Menethil, Second of his name.
Every divination and portent agreed, Arthas Menethil would grow into a mighty King, and he would lead his people to greatness.
If any of the Diviners could have seen with greater detail what would happen, they would have been horrified by how right they were.
=][=
Arthas Menethil was a study in contradiction.
A taciturn boy who was outgoing on the extreme. Gifted with a bright mind that devoured information, yet where others of his station and intellect were happy to rest on their laurels, he was ever unfailingly studious to the point of surpassing what had been readied by his tutors, forcing breaks to prepare further lessons.
This was how the Prince’s habit of leaving the palace began, dressed as a boy of common birth with dirt rubbed onto his skin and clothes, to pester various servants and commoners into teaching him their trade.
The first time this happened, the Palace Guard had been mobilized in its entirety in order to find him, only for the Prince to return on his own in time for supper. And when told not to do something so reckless unsupervised again, he bullied a knight into changing into clothes fit for a commoner and forced him to be nearby while he learned to bake from his favorite baker.
Thus it was that Arthas Menethil spent his childhood, studying and learning everything he could from every source that he could. His tastes in learning as eclectic as they were eccentric.
He learned baking from a baker, metalwork from a blacksmith, cooking from the palace cook, medicine from the royal doctor, fishing from the local fishermen, and drove the palace librarian to distraction requesting every book available that dealt in the arcane art of engineering.
This on top of his studies on arithmetic, manners, statecraft, taxation, and all other studies expected of a Prince. And in all of these, he excelled.
The only one of his studies that the Prince struggled with, was the mastering of the horse, but if anything, the fact that he was no naturally masterful equestrian made the people like him more, not less.
