Meeting Nadia
You know, so many surprising things happen in our lives and at the moment we don't really give them much importance. Sometimes it is just a random message, a meeting or an idea. But some time later you look back and realize that this exact moment was the beginning of a new story.
I notice this especially often in photography.
In the world of female photography there are endless ways how a photographer finds the right model. Sometimes you already have a very specific idea in your head and you spend a long time looking for exactly the right person for it. But sometimes everything happens completely the opposite way. First you meet the person, and only after that the future photographs slowly start to appear in your imagination.
And I think the second way is even closer to me. Especially when we are talking about a collaboration where two creative people meet and both bring something of their own into the process.
Today I want to introduce you to Nadia, a model from Minsk, Belarus, and share with you one of the first series we created together.
Our story started very simply. We found each other on Instagram. Nadia told me that she was coming to Frankfurt during her trip around Europe and that she would be interested to create something together. We looked through each other's work and pretty quickly understood that our styles and vision of photography could meet very well in the same frame.
But the most interesting part started when we began sharing ideas.
Nadia mentioned that she loves red. And from the other side came the love for black, latex, leather and harnesses. I think after that we didn't really need too many words.
This is how the visual direction for the series you see today slowly came together.
But during the photoshoot I realized that the most interesting part would not actually be the red color or even the look we had created.
It would be Nadia herself.
There are models who pose in front of the camera, and there are models who start living inside the frame. Nadia definitely belongs to the second type. She very quickly enters the mood you give her, she feels the movement of her body and slowly almost disappears into the character.
At some point you don't really want to stop this process anymore or constantly correct something. You just want to watch, catch those movements and slowly collect all these little moments into one complete image.
Into that image of a woman's body, character and emotion which for me represents aesthetic nude photography.
There is only one little detail about our introduction today.
At the moment Patreon allows collaborations between creators only through public posts. This means that this post is available for everyone, including my free members, and today Nadia and I can only show you the part of our photoshoot that fits within these public limitations.
Maybe there is actually something nice about it.
Let this be only our first introduction.
Those of you who have been following my Patreon for a while already know that the most interesting part usually comes a little later. The complete series with Nadia will be available for my paid Patreon members, and there our story will continue without the limitations of a public collaboration.
Exactly in the aesthetic that this space was originally created for.
And today I simply want to say:
Nadia, welcome to my world.
And of course, thank you to all of you who are here, who support my photography and make it possible for meetings like this to become not simply another photoshoot, but a new story. ❤️
