News regarding Timestamps Chapter 2 Final release
Aesouh had serious personal problems, and we still are in contact.
As all everyone know now, my work on Timestamps is done for many months and I start working on my next project, Alternate Worlds, you will be able to play the release 2 very soon, since we are in finale testing phase right now.
I always been cash with you guys on the situation and gave you the information I receive. I try to deal with it the best I can. I admit this situation suck, we all know this. I will explain again for those who don't know. Timestamps is build on VNGine, a proprietary engine made by Aesouh in unity. The last and finale Chapter 2 release of the game combine r11 and r12, it been mix together and all reorganize to make an better ending. There is also new content and reorganization in previous releases, so to be able to release a single standalone release without redoing the entire game in renpy is not a possibility. If I port it to renpy, I need to redo all the game or it will make no sens!
I trust on my partner on everything he mention to me and I believe him when he say he will provide a release... then bad things happens to him and it do no work as we planned, life suck sometimes. I know some people think it is easy to do a VN games, it is not. IT IS NOT. We are a very small team with different complementary skillset.
I made a choice in believing my partner and wait for him to feel better and deliver his part of the work. Instead of waiting, I start another project that I like a lot and I hope you guys too! I'm happy that I decided to go this route because we are now on release 2 of this VN game, a project that I now code all by myself, learning the hard way because I was pushed on the wall...
It happens in development that things go wrong, not as you plan, but the good thing is that I always recover from this and move on. We will see the end of Timestamps, but If or When I decide to port it to renpy, it will take huge amount of time to do it and if I can avoid doing this, I will!
Some people are mad and more understand the situation. Is it fun for you to wait after years of development, of course it's not and I will continue to excuse myself for this. Is it fun for me waiting for this finale version to be release on steam for months, instead of having great ROI from it, no it's not!
Have I made the right decision to create another project like Alternate Worlds, I think I have. But one thing is sure, is that we will one day be able to replay Timestamps and say, it was a hell of a ride!

I am not interested into Timestamps. I hate Unity Games. I am here because of Alternate Worlds. For now i will stay for free but if you are serious with your new game i will start to support you.

Thanks for explaining again. I'm not sure why people would think you don't care though. If so, you wouldn't bother making this post and taking it on the chin for someone that didn't hold up their end of the bargain to see the culmination of years of work. I am curious though if you could get one of these AI LLM systems to convert the entire game from vngine to renpy, or at least do the bulk of the work converting the script and code. Something you might want to look into.

I'm sorry for the situation you're in. It stinks when you have to wait on the work of others with no timeline on when that come - or if it will ever come. I'm sorry to hear Aesouh had some bad personal happenings. If true, those can always take a terrible toll in life and no one should wish those on another human. I do hope that he hasn't abandoned Timestamps entirely - but admittedly I'm leaning that way because even for release 11 it seemed you had to contact him a number of times before he answered or delivered his pieces. I guess we'll see if you ever get anything from him for the final release 12. I do appreciate you explaining that finishing Timestamps yourself isn't really a feasible option because I was wondering if this was work you could do on your own. In the meantime I completely get why you moved to making Alternate Worlds. You can't just stay dormant forever waiting on someone else. That game has started well and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes. In the end I too hope we somehow get the end of Timestamps, but this is the situation as it stands and the transparency is appreciated.

Just to clarify, you're still waiting on Aesouh's contribution but you have no way of knowing if or when their stuff will be finished and functional?

I never paid more than the lowest tier, so I am not going to be one of those screaming and complaining, but I do have a few thoughts. In general, of course one wants to understand the situation you find yourself in, if all is as reported, this is no fault of your own. However, here's where I have to say, this is definitely not a good direction. 1. Timestamps completion (as far as it is complete for now) already felt rushed and to be honest, I don't think I am alone in feeling the ending left a lot to be desired, especially regarding the quality the game had previously achieved. And for that part, I think you also have to carry part of the blame. You wanted to start working on a new game, your creative interest in Timestamps had waned. Understandable, yes, but still sad to see with a project that had been so long in development. And maybe the actual ending now, when the final release comes at some point, is much more satisfying, but we just don't have that ending. 2. There is something to be said for the opinion that you, having a new project are maybe just not quite as interested in finishing Timestamps properly, than you would be, if you didn't have a project all your own now. And I am not saying this isn't understandable (It is definitely understandable), or that this is even a conscious thing you ever decided on, but inadvertently, for you Timestamps just isn't as much of a pressing issue as it would be, if it was still your one and only problem. Again, don't get me wrong, I am not accusing you of doing anything wrong, or not caring if the game is finished, TL,DR, there are two things I am not perfectly content with. The way Timestamps story was cut short and secondly that you are already a 100% concentrated on a new project, which means, whether conscious or not, Timestamps isn't as much as a priority for you, as it used to be.
I understand you feel this way. You know, things in life happens for some reason and I'm here right now. It was a necessity to learn how to code and now I can do everything on my own. That's something I tried to do when I start creating Timestamps years ago using VN maker or Tyranobuilder, some drag and drop easier programs and it was not as good as it is now. Would I have been able to redo Timestamps from scratch months ago, NEVER. Would I have done it to Aesouh, my partner in this project and hire someone else to do it, NEVER. You have to think of the personal situation and also have to think of the business side of the story. I think I made the right decision to start another project because if it wasn't of this decision, I would have been force to work even more outside the game industries and probably made different things today than create VN game to be able to feed my family. I barely make a living out of this and it is on a low level of income compare to my previous works. Some would have quit long time ago in this situation. I'm not complaining because with you guys supports, I can do something I like, creating and learn!

At least speaking for myself, I am sure the conclusion of Timestamps will be worth the wait. The story is so compelling, and the artwork is excellent. I hope Aesouh is going to be ok. Meanwhile, I am excited for release 2 of AW!
