Apple app store changes

Hi everyone,

Here is a news that may affect a lot of developer in upcoming months. Apple is forcing on us to adapt for their IOS platform. Beginning in November, Apple would be taking 30% of any subscription a patron pledged, if they signed up on iOS (iPhone or iPad).

30% price increase on subscriptions made through Patreon's app from the Apple app store for any new supporter. It do not impact your current subscription!

Make sure to use the web and not the iOS app for any future sign-ups or tier changes.

Patreon is also removing its two original billing models, which many creators still rely on. We can no longer use pay-per-creation or first-of-the-month billing, which has always been available on Patreon. We are asked to change our business model because Apple does not allow payments to be processed in those two ways. Patreon gave me until November to switch billing models or until November 2025... If I decide to keep the current billing model until 2025, I won't be able to acquires any new supporter from the IOS platform. I will see what can be done by that time.

As a former big Apple product user, now using better alternative, this type of business money grab move against many small individuals confirms why I dislike this company!

Thank you, amazing supporters, for being there over these years!!
