I feel you re: soliciting Patreon $. I’m a creator and it’s a struggle asking foromey
I’d be ecstatic to read a book by you! Sounds fascinating
I’m so glad you’re doing well! I’m in a similar place where I’m happy with life generally but feeling stagnant with work. I’m actively looking for a new job, but it’s tedious and draining especially when balancing it with work, organizing, chores/errands, and spending time with people I care about. Patreon ideas/feedback: - I love the interviews you upload here, I find them informative and engaging and I’m excited to watch the new ones coming soon! - I look forward to the recommendations you plan to share here, whether it’s other YouTube channels, books to read, music to listen to, etc. - I enjoy the community posts that you have on YouTube and would love if you did something similar here, whether it’s asking for feedback about a video topic you’re considering or asking questions to gauge perspectives from your patrons. - Q&As live streams where only patrons and YouTube members are invited could be a fun way to increase engagement here. Not sure how that would work logistically since patrons don’t have access to member only livestreams on YouTube. I hope that the lack of Patreon growth doesn’t discourage you from continuing to create content! You offer well-researched and thoughtful analysis of important sociocultural topics, I appreciate the work you do and the perspectives you share with the world. I’m very excited for the upcoming video essays and your book once it’s finished (but please do not rush)!
Looking forward to the Speed/DR video and eventually the Bad Bunny video, I'm going to force my puerto rican bestie to watch it with me once it comes out :)) I think for things that are less time consuming and more natural for you to post on patreon, consistent book recs, video essay recs, music recs, influencer recs, etc would be great, as you're always working on projects and learning and we would love to be able to learn along with you before the finished product is out. Also as a personal interest of mine, maybe something like short lessons, or callouts as lessons per say, on media literacy, or what easy false propaganda looks like when you come across it. You talk about it in almost every video, but as someone looking to increase their knowledge and who admires your background in journalism and ability to research, any insights would be great!
I know it's probably way easier said than done, but I'd try not to take the decline/stagnation of Patreon donations to heart. The economy is really tough. The price of everything has gone up so rapidly since the war started. If it means anything, as someone who has followed your work for a while I find that your commentary has matured a lot since I saw your first video. I find myself resonating with your arguments more. So, even though your YouTuber career may feel stagnant, I definitely see growth ❤️ looking forward to your book!
Looking forward to reading your fiction novel once it's published! A suggestion I have to increase visibility on your pateron, is to perhaps cross interviews with other youtube content creators who do similar content or hold similar values, and promote it widely on your youtube channels
