Bonus #10: Talking Jobs

“The worst I’ve ever felt,” haha!

My first job was checkout at a grocery store at 15 yrs old. Legally the store could pay me a lower wage until I turned 16. I got all the Sunday, late night and public holiday shifts because they didn’t want to have to pay penalty rates to a full time employee. It sucked so much. The week before I turned 16 I got fired for “not smiling enough” at customers. They replaced me with another 15 yr old the next week. Cheap bastards. I became a Marxist for nearly a whole year after that. (Thanks history class!)

So many memories of all the bad jobs I've had through the years just came flooding back to me 😂

I absolutely love scrolling through the thumbnails and every single one is an ever so slightly different image of Jordan's laugh, it makes my day every time

I relate so hardly to needing a fake excuse to quit a shitty job. I'm a hardcore leftist but when I quit im suddenly like "oh no! I need mr capitalist overlord to LIKE ME!"

You guys should call the Bonus episodes the "Knowledge Fight Journal" since you take questions and comments from fans. Also can you provide an audio only version of these?

My first job was as a dish washer at 14. Man that job sucked, but I was too proud to tell my parents or my boss, so I stayed there for two whole years. Good to hear I'm not the only one with a history of terrible menial jobs. These videos are a really nice addition to the podcast.

Thanks for this jobs episode, fellow Midwest folks. It took me back to my very first job, the important agricultural task of shoveling cow manure out of a retired Army Colonel's barn. Thanks again! lol

It's fair not to make an episode when Alex is AWOL, but if I might make a request; post a suggested back catalog episode (one of your favorites, or one that is somewhat related to current day Alex or whatever) instead of leaving the slot in my podcasting app empty. I know I missed a bunch of the old episodes, and am slowly trying to fill in. Getting a guided tour of Dan or Jordan's favorites would be a hoot.
