Important Naked Fighter update!
Folks! Let me share some important decisions that were made earlier in our high-tier supporters chat.
So, I've spent real time trying to build proper solo/single-player content for Naked Fighter, and, to be honest, it's not going well. NF3D was built around multiplayer and Virtual Playground, and trying to turn it into a full solo experience means constantly fighting systems that were never designed for that. My efficiency is so low it's actually putting me down — changing one small thing breaks 5 other things all over the game that I then spend ages fixing. Adding one detail to the game logic means rebuilding it in 5 other places that feel completely unrelated. As a solo dev, I hate inefficiency more than anything, and this has been rough.
While trying to make things more convenient, I started designing some new features and mechanics separately, outside the game core, using newer tools and approaches. And yeah — confirmed. I was getting in a few hours' worth that would've taken me days in NF3D. When I'm not fighting the current engine, I can do so much more. So please, hear me out!
Right now I genuinely think that drastically increasing NF3D's scope with a full solo mode is not impossible, but... not viable. I've literally spent 80% of development time fixing issues just trying to fit new stuff into the old frame. So the idea is splitting things into NF3D and a sister project, living in the same universe (and under the same Patreon).
What this means for NF3D:
Nothing splits off, you don't pledge twice, you'd just be getting double the content for the same support. And with me not fighting new stuff onto old frames, NF3D actually gets more love, not less:
new content for those modes: character customization, locations, animations, etc
improvements and QoL to the existing modes: MP & VP
a sandbox — build your own scenarios/setups — instead of one big scripted solo mode
What goes into the sister project:
Starting from a clean foundation means I can design these properly instead of bolting them onto systems that were never built for them:
native support for futa/trans characters
height & body proportion differences
targeting breasts/nipples
using dildos/toys as weapons
group fights
actual balanced game mechanics and RPG progression
adjustable character voices
optional multiplayer built on top of real single-player mechanics
mobile (Android) support (questionable but worth checking)
all other crazy stuff according to your input
And to be clear, it's not "drop NF3D and go do something else", but the same effort, spent way more efficiently. Instead of me burning most of my hours fighting legacy code for scraps of progress. Instead of one project constantly fighting itself, we'd have two that reinforce each other: NF3D keeps becoming the best MP/VP experience it can be, while the sister project finally lets me build all the progression, customization, and mechanics we've talked about for years. I genuinely think this means more content, faster, at higher quality — for both.
Please, don't hesitate to share your thoughts! <3

you forgot to mention that even that alt-project will feature multiplayer features- ;O
Yeah, I’m thinking to make a bigger and more detailed post about my progress and vision, as soon as I start understanding it better myself 😅
I programmed in Delphi a long time ago and know exactly what you are talking about. I designed this game and I threw everything in it. It ended up being a big, bloated mess. And like you said adding for fixing one thing created other problems. It took me 4 years to finish. I rewrote it using new methods I'd learned, and I kept 95% of the features but completed it in 1.5 years. The software was a lot more subdivided because I was using objects. But I didn't use them well. I was intending to do another rewrite, started, but never finished. At any rate. I feel your pain.
Delphi… that's a name I've not heard in a long time 😔
Whatever works best
As long as i can still do online style matches offline too, im happy and also excited for future single player
Differences in size and body proportions.I think my dream will come true.
Oh wow man, you really got your hands full with these upcoming projects. But it's nice to see you taking them on after watching you grow as a solo developer over the last few years man! Keep up the good work and you'll get there in no time <3 ;p
What kind of timeline are you thinking of for the single player expansion? Are you in the beginning stages or have you been playing with it awhile?
I’m already playing with it for a while but It’s still rather a very early stage. I’m aiming for the naked fighter 3d update this month, but not sure for the other project yet
I'll be honest, I was very close to cancelling because so far I'd found the single player stuff very lacking. This post has convinced me to stick around for a few more months at least. Looking forward to seeing how things go!
I'm also on board with these changes. I'm here for single-player content only but I don't want that to detract from the folks who enjoy the MP / VP side of the house. Godspeed, Sam!
I think this is great. I’m mainly interested in the single player stuff so it would be good to have one game that’s focused on that.
Sounds good to me, the tricky thing will be time management between the two projects. Hopefully you'll be able to share some assets between them.
Yeah, it sounds tricky but I expect it to be more efficient in the long run 💪🏻
