ICYMI: New privacy controls, improved payouts experience, & more

We’re here with the latest product improvements and new updates to make your day-to-day on Patreon easier. We share a rundown like this regularly — join Patreon for Creators if you want to be notified when we do.

💌 See email insights by post state

Now you can see exactly how each version of your post's email performed (full post, preview, or combined) so you can tell exactly what's driving opens and clicks.

Head to patreon.com/insights/posts and filter using the Email type dropdown next to your Email and notification results. The default view shows Full posts, but you can switch anytime.

🔒 New privacy and visibility controls

You now have more control over how your memberships and activity show up across Patreon. Choose whether your memberships to creators are shown publicly, and whether your activity (e.g. likes, comments) gets highlighted in feeds, all the way down to a per-creator level for both current and past memberships.

Head to Settings > Privacy > Membership & activity visibility to set it up.

🧑‍🍳 Improved payments experience

We’ve been cookin’ with a ton of improvements to the payouts experience on Patreon:

• Partial payouts: Decide how much you want to withdraw up to your full balance, giving you more flexibility and control over your payouts. Partial payouts can be initiated once every 24 hours and are currently only available on desktop.

• Improved payout statuses: Statuses for a payout now reflect what's happening in real time, from withdrawal to deposit. And if something goes wrong, we’ll share an explanation and suggested next step, instead of a failed status with no context.

• Mobile payouts: Withdraw your account balance directly from the Patreon mobile app, no computer required. We’re rolling out mobile payouts on the Patreon iOS app over the next few months, and this functionality will be coming soon to the Patreon Android app.

And coming soon to all creators, we’re surfacing a more detailed transaction history view for each member within Relationship Manager, so you can quickly understand what a member has paid for and has access to, without extra digging. The Payment history section of the member side panel will be called Transaction history and will include if the member is a free member, has been gifted a membership, is on a free trial, or was refunded.

👥 Membership and Earnings Insights improvements

Over the past few months, we’ve also made several updates to insights to help you better understand your members and earnings.

• Better visibility into your members: Your active member count now includes free trials and members in payment retry, giving you a truer picture of who’s an active member. New paid status filters also let you break membership down by free trials, gifts, active payments, and retrying payments.

• A potential boost to your earnings: Now, after about 30 days of payment retries, members with failed payments are converted to free members. As you're now able to stay connected with them, they are roughly twice as likely to resubscribe to your paid membership as before.

• Detailed earnings breakdown: The earnings tab now breaks down by tier and billing cadence, so you can see what's driving your business and month-to-month changes.

🎥 [Early access] Patreon Video and Quips for Adult/18+ creators

This week, we’re starting to roll out Patreon Video and Quips to Adult/18+ creators. Check your inbox to see if you now have access. You can now connect with your community in new ways by seamlessly uploading video natively to Patreon and sharing via Quips alongside your posts.

As reminder, Quips may not include any material classified as Adult/18+ according to our Community Guidelines. And they are currently only shared into the feeds of your free and paid members, but are publicly visible to anyone who visits your creator page. As with any feature rollout, we’ll be monitoring usage and will expand to more creators when we’re ready.

👉 Send fans straight to the comments

Comment deep links let you point your audience directly to the conversation on any post, on both web and mobile. Send your fans straight into a meaty discussion or reference an ongoing debate by sharing a link that drops people right into the comment section.

Want to take it for a spin? Grab a link to a recent post on your page and grab the post ID, which is the number at the end of any post URL: patreon.com/posts/your-post-title-<post_id>.

• Adding #comments to the end of the URL drops fans at the top of the comments section.

  • Example: patreon.com/posts/<post_id>#comments

• Adding ?scrollTo=comment to the end of the URL scrolls straight to the comment box, ready for them to type.

  • Example: patreon.com/posts/<post_id>?scrollTo=comment

🎙️Going live, simplified: The new Streamlabs plugin makes your lives (and life) easier

Use a third-party streaming service to host your Lives? You can now go live on Patreon directly from Streamlabs Desktop or OBS with the Streamlabs Plugin. Connect your Patreon account, set up as you usually do, then go live in a couple clicks. Learn more about getting started with Streamlabs in our Help Center. Only for creators with access to Live on Patreon.

🎥 Coming soon: Clips

Your longer videos have moments worth sharing. Clips finds them for you. Post a video that's 8+ minutes with English audio, and within a few minutes we'll generate up to 10 suggested clips, no separate editing workflow required.

Every clip you share links straight back to the full video so a new fan who finds it can watch the whole thing and see exactly what they'd get by joining. Broader access coming soon!

📆 Scheduling Quips!

Last month, we made it possible for all Quip users to post and edit Quips on desktop web. Soon, coming in mid-July, you’ll also be able to schedule Quips on desktop to go live at a specific date and time.
