3 strategies to boost your revenue
If you want to grow on Patreon, start by focusing on a few small decisions that compound over time. Looking at Midnight Burger’s growth, three moments stand out that meaningfully strengthened both their relationship with members and their financial stability.
1. Turn on annual memberships
One of the earliest inflection points for Midnight Burger was enabling annual subscriptions.
For new visitors, seeing an annual option signals commitment. It shows you are not treating Patreon like a tip jar, but as something you plan to show up for long-term. That reassurance matters more than you might think.
Annual memberships also reduce member churn during tough financial months. Instead of fans making a stressful monthly decision over and over, they make one choice they can feel good about. That stability helps both you and your audience.
📝 Note: Annual memberships aren't available to all creators. Check out the Help Center article on annual memberships for more information.
2. Let Spotify do the reminding for you
The next big jump came from turning on Spotify Synced Feeds.
This feature places your Patreon-exclusive episodes directly into your public Spotify feed with a lock icon. When listeners on Spotify tap the lock, they are taken straight to your Patreon.
Joe assumed this would lead to a modest bump. Instead, Midnight Burger nearly doubled their Patreon paid membership in three months. The takeaway was simple: many fans listening to the show on Spotify did not know Midnight Burger's Patreon existed or what it unlocked, even after repeated mentions in the show itself. By putting the exclusive Patreon episodes front and center in their public Spotify feed, it helped roll out the red carpet to their Patreon with a direct way to access member-only exclusives.
Spotify Synced Feeds made the value impossible to miss, and it only took a couple of minutes to set up.
3. Create a limited-time moment
The final peak Joe points to is what he calls their “McRib peak”: a special perk that only opens occasionally and disappears just as fast.
For Midnight Burger, this meant a one-day-only offer where members could have a name written into the show’s script. Most sign-ups came from annual members, making it feel special without adding ongoing workload.
Limited-time offers work because they are fun, memorable, and clearly optional. They give your most engaged fans a moment to lean in without permanently expanding your commitments.

Great short video! I’m still building but I can attest to the wonderful dopamine hit of getting an annual subscriber 😆 the psychology is real, on both sides
Unfortunately, like most cool features, they are locked off to people not in your preferred subscription scheme. I would have enabled annual memberships long ago but you wont let us without forcing us onto a different billing system we agreed to 9 years go.
Not everyone can opt for annual payments and you know it, but sometimes you act as if you didn't. My page is almost two years old, I meet all the requirements, but... I'm South American and in these parts, we don't have annual subscriptions. It's not a matter of meeting the requirements or not; it's a matter of geographic location.
Thanks, only I can't see the yearly subscription option on my dashboard 🥺

Fabulous.
Thank you! We in South Africa don't have access to stripe and we do not have the option here to use PayPal, unless I miss something? Then I will need the help for sure. Blessings
