Introducing 'State of Create': 3,000 creators & fans on the future of the internet

It’s clear that creating on the internet has changed — and it’s been tough for creators:

  • It’s harder to reach an audience.

  • Creator incomes are unpredictable.

  • Platforms push what keeps us scrolling, not what we actually want to see.

If we want a better internet, we have to build it.

That’s why we’re excited to share the State of Create report, a deep dive on the current and future state of creating on the internet. We surveyed over 3,000 creators and fans and learned how they really feel about the changes, why it’s been so hard, and signs of a shift towards a more creator-first future.

Read the report online. Cool, and I very much relate to that. Is there a way to actually get the zine tho?

Oh cool, thank you PFC! I'm gonna apply right away. And you'll send it over right to my mail home address?

Nice! Yeah, tired of the algorithm guessing game or playing the "pay to play" model or paying to reach your own audience business model.

I like the tip about people more willing to pay for long form content. Short form to me feels disposable. Maybe going against the trend could help with Patreon connections with fans going forward.
