WIP
As you can see, this is exactly what I’ve been working on. Last month I spent some time learning the basics of Marvelous Designer and Zbrush, and made my very first piece of clothing—a ruffled dress (as shown in Figure 3). But since the ruffles turned out way too puffy, I couldn’t figure out a good way to retopologize it or match the weights in The Sims, so I eventually gave up on that dress.
After releasing my previous furniture set, I wanted to try making clothes again, so I started working on the outfit in Figures 1 and 2. This time, I went with the frankenmesh method: combining parts from several nocc outfits and adjusting the shape a little (Figure 2). Then, for the parts not covered by nocc, I modeled or sculpted them myself (Figure 1). This way, the outfit would fit The Sims body shape as closely as possible and adapt more easily to the weights.
I also want to take this opportunity to try making shoes, hair, and other accessories to match the style of this outfit. I’ve already collected the reference materials. I don’t know when I’ll finish, since I’m also working on other things, but this is a new attempt for me, and I want to keep a record of it. Haha, the future is full of challenges!
This was translated with the help of a machine, so please excuse any mistakes.
Wishing you all the best, see you next time!
