Hello I'm participant (number 234) and I have informed that you refused my request to join, may I ask the reason? Thanks for your amazing models!

Hey there😃 I want to ask you what's the final date on which I can register for the contest? I'm asking just to know how much time I have to print my selected model. Thank you in advance.

Team Tanuki Figures · July 7, 2026

Hello! You have until the end date to submit the final piece. The entry doesn't matter, but we do require the photo unpainted and the WIP's.

Gostaria de saber se é permitido alterações para facilitar a impressão do modelo (não alterando o design), por exemplo juntar partes que estão separadas e imprimir junto, no caso de impressoras maiores ou FDM.

T
Team Tanuki Figures · July 7, 2026

Sim ,se não mudar o design, pode fazer!

Hey, is it allowed to modify the model and put LEDs or electronics inside, like glowing eyes, glowing tranclucent parts, etc.?

Nox · June 1, 2026

Hello, I'd like to participate, but I don't understand the requirement to have two projects in progress. I already need to print the model I want to submit. Why is a project in progress required?

T
Team Tanuki Figures · May 28, 2026

Hello Maki! No, you don't need to have an in-progress project. You will send 2 in-progress images of your current chosen model while you're working on it. That is the WIP submissions. First, you will print, assemble, and send to the registrar. The WIP and finally the Final Submission. hello, does scale matter when it comes to judging?

T
Team Tanuki Figures · May 26, 2026

Hello Bgbill, the scales that are accepted in the Contest are 1:4, 1:6, and 1:8 just to prevent oversized or super downsized models. Other than that, there's no influence on the judging. Thank you for the interest and support and good luck :D

Hello! I'm looking forward to participating again this year. Last year, none of the top 10 were anime characters and the results seemed to heavily favor realistic paint jobs over stylized. It looks like the judges this year are mostly the same and are not generally known for painting anime characters. Are there any steps being taken this year to ensure a wider range of characters and styles receive placement, or would it be better to avoid anime for this contest?

Hi Steven! Thank you so much for your message and for participating again this year, we really appreciate your support and feedback! 🧡 We completely understand your concern, especially coming from last year’s results. However, it’s important to mention that the winning piece was actually a highly stylized cel-shaded Zagreus, which shows that stylized and anime-inspired works absolutely can stand out and succeed in the competition. We truly trust the professionalism and experience of our judges, and this year the judging panel is even larger, bringing more perspectives and variety into the evaluation process. We’ve also refined our judging system even further and established clear evaluation criteria that will be applied consistently across all entries and styles. Our goal is to ensure that every piece, whether realistic, stylized, anime-inspired, or otherwise, is analyzed fairly according to the same criteria. We definitely encourage artists to participate with the style they love most and feel confident in. Thanks again for your support, and happy printing! 🧡
