A microwave already spins both ways, Andrew. At least every one that I've had does. it always goes the opposite way as the use before. You can stop and start something cooking and observe. If you meant spinning both ways at the same time.... wouldn't that just be staying still? Very inefficient heating.

Thin enough cut of steak would be fine, just need that hot iron. Thick and hot holding a lot of heat to sear that steak real nice

I grew up in Vancouver (not the island but the actual place) in the early 2000s and we definitely had the apparatus. We rarely got to use it because it was so jank. I seem to remember only convincing substitute teachers to let us use it

The funniest thing about being a Brit the same age as Gavin is I’m fully on board with things like the apparatus and I’m shocked when people don’t know what it is

The frozen steak cook is how my dad cooked steaks when I was growing up. He likes his steak more on the blue side but for the rest of us, he just kept them on the grill for an extra minute or so. Turns out alright but I would not recommend this cooking method for a consistent cook. However, it does work on a very hot grill.

Gav, I'm getting proper trauma from apparatus.. Apparatus was only for school. It was different from a jungle gym, or what we called a "climbing frame". Climbing frames were metal and lived in parks and had no rules. Apparatus was specifically the janky wooden thing that folded out from the wall in school assembly halls. They assessed your performance and shit Apparatus = not fun Climbing frame = fun

Every time Gavin shares a childhood story I become less convinced that England was ever real.

I love how the fry literacy quiz had nothing to do with different types of fries which is what Andrew was complaining about in the first place

I think zombies when they first become zombies can be fast and run quickly since the body is newly dead. Over time though the body should slow down with the decay.

The zombie thing depends. Viral based is the most likely cause for runner zombies. it's been a minute since I read the book but in the zombie survival guide they are said to be potentially faster and stronger than the average person at least when fresh then degrade rapidly after. Due to the fact the virus has the ability to remove the natural human limiter and dump adrenaline in the host body. The infected wound be almost super human for a brief window until the muscles started tearing and the bones fractured. So for a very brief window of time during the initial outbreak we'd be fucked until the dead started essentially self destructing. Its speculation not fact though.

Brit here - Gavin perfectly described the apparatus. We did used to get so excited when it came out though, likely because you got to use it like once in year 3 starting junior school and then once in year 6 when your teachers have given up because you've finished your SATs.
