I'm with Andrew on the toothpaste front, I can't stand normal toothpaste. In Australia we have a brand called HiSmile which has a bunch of different flavours including several different berry flavours and a wonka chocolate one.

I still think Andrew is wrong on french fries, but I think the burger comparison makes the most sense. The ubiquitous burger is beef, so any order would be assumed as beef unless otherwise specified, and it was THE original burger. Same for french fries. EVERYONE assumes the same thing until it is otherwise specified and has only become a general term because of the variations that came AFTER.
