Art & Soundtracks #9: Taika
This track is a shorter, simpler one, yet packs a lot of nuance and feeling. You may immediately picture yourself walking into a magical shop of potions and spells. Thus the name of the track, Taika, is quite simply the finnish word for "Magic". The wind chime like instrumentation oddly enough creates a chaotic feel with the dynamic rhythm of it while still pulling together the enchanting feel I was looking for.
Composer's notes (artsy stuff)
The rhythm of the wind chimes really intrigued and inspired me to write and create this track. The main melody (I love melodies, and am noticing a pattern of me babbling about melodies in every soundtrack post. If you've read this far, you deserve an applause) somehow is still easy to follow and gets stuck in your head, even with the almost arythmical sense of the wind chimes playing it. I was at first skeptic at whether the track becomes "too hard" for your ears with so much happening at the same time rhythm-wise, but am really happy with the result! I may continue and evolve this track to a longer further as the development of the game continues on.
Thanks for having a listen,
