Worked for a large national company for twenty five years. As soon as I trained a promising employee to handle the job, they'd let them go. In a lot of cases, other companies would snap them right up. They ended up doing a great job for the competition. Big busines is so damned dumb some times. Stupidity reigns in a lot of stodgy old companies. Sorry you got caught upin that.

The thing is though big companies can afford it, they just don’t want to or they’d have to share more of their profits with the workers.
