Mistakes
Some people just won't see.

I'm guessing they will let her see A.J. under very controlled circumstances, and ONLY at their house. Of course, then she will probably bring the grandfather with her at sometime in the future unannounced.
I've dealt with these situations in my own family as well. This woman has just lost her rights to see AJ... HOWEVER she can retaliate in such a way AJ could end up in her custody. I really hope that doesn't happen ;-;
I did too Charlotte and I don't wish that it happens to anyone else!
I love it when I'm reading your comic and in my head I respond with the exact same words as you do. At least we're on the same wavelength.
And that was the last time Grandma ever saw AJ. Some say her ghost stills haunts the house John grew up in, screeching "Get over it!" But they never did.
mother or not...i would have screamed at her, 'chewed her up' and spit her OUTSIDE with probably a judge order than they BOTH STAY AWAY FROM US!
And that’s the last time she’s seeing AJ .
Yeah, that's my thought too. She doesn't get it and it sounds like she never will.
Throw the whole mom away.
Things are getting intense now ...
As someone who hasn't spoken to an abusive parent in 10+ years, and is far better for it, I hope John does the same.
Time to cut her out of their lives for good. I guess this is a teaching moment for AJ about how you don’t have to keep toxic people in your life just because they’re related to you.
Its all the same with toxic people: Promises get made, then get broken, then the self-pity and excuses come, then more promises to do better: the vicious cycle just repeats itself, while getting worse and worse and spreading out to hurt or threaten more people each time. Also, with a vocabulary that includes "everyone makes mistakes", "not my fault" and "get over it", that's NOT someone I would ever want around a healthy family, especially children.
Damn. I hope AJ isn’t witnessing all this.
I think he is, we just can't see him because he's not on focus right now.
Lesson learned, not. 😒
Jesus. What a horrifying reaction on her part. They have more self-control than I do.
She has to go. She had her chance at redemption. Helen Keller. Be done.
When I first saw the sketch I thought maybe Alex was being out of line in his anger. Seeing this page and how ignorant and naieve she is being, I take back any first impressions I had. I really can't blame John or Alex for their anger given the circumstances
That's what we should learn from situations like these. We can't really understand them or judge things fairly without being in the middle of the action
