AJ & Magnus: On The Case! Reveal

Hello Family!

I wanted to share something with you we've been working on for a while now and I finally feel confident enough to share our progress. We're working on a cozy match 3 game that focuses on imagination and chill while being emotionally supportive. We want this to be a straight forward enjoyable experience so there will be no ads or microtransactions. The full app will be available for Android and iPhone and be free to all our Patreons.

This project has been very important to me. For the last few years I've struggled with feeling productive and putting this project together has really helped me get some fire back. I was able to use the art assets from our comics so Simon could focus on his work and overall I'm very proud of the progress and direction.

This is not a replacement for the comic, it's in addition to. A way for us to express our thanks to you by creating an experience that encompases the spirit of our comic in a more engaging way.

The theme of the game is helping others. AJ & Magnus are in PI mode as they encounter friends and family who need help in one way or another. The gameplay is based around moving game pieces around the board to make matches. The twist of our game is each game piece has a second side that can be flipped to also make a match. We've found this makes for some extremely fun gameplay. Our environment is low pressure. Game pieces do not have to make immediate matches to be moved, which allows setting up game piece combinations that have some interesting effects! As the game pieces are matched "clues" are found that lead to solving a case!

Please understand that while the game build is pretty far along, it's all temp assets as I'm still experimenting with the tone. Our goal is to deliver a simple but engaging interactive experience that leaves people feeling good. Keeping it simple but effective.
