Development Update & Side Story Progress

Hello everyone, this is LactoQuest.

This month, development on Stigma of Corruption will slow down a bit, as I’m focusing most of my time on the upcoming side story.
The side story is a standalone title. While it shares the same world and background as the main game, it is not a simple add-on.

Since December, I’ve been refining the overall structure and experience of the side story.
Rather than rushing to finish it by the end of the year, I decided to prioritize making the core gameplay feel solid and cohesive. During this time, I’ve been working on the following:

• Reorganizing systems and gameplay flow, shifting from a mostly linear structure to a semi-open experience

• Revising the story structure and a large portion of the dialogue to improve pacing

• Reworking many event sequences to make information clearer and progression smoother

• Adding a radio system that interacts with resource management and event triggers

• Changing NTR events from fixed sequences to a “values + conditions” system, and adding a confession route

• Improving map layouts and UI, along with adding a few mini-game elements

• Upgrading shadow scenes into higher-framerate animated sequences

• Adding 3 shadow scene sets, 1 pure love CG, 3 standard CGs, and 2 additional endings

During this period, I spent more time thinking about how everything fits together rather than simply adding more content.
The overall scale is intentionally restrained, but my goal is to make each element connect naturally and create a smoother, more replayable experience.

I’d also like to mention that all CGs for this side story are being produced by myself.
Even with a tight schedule, I chose to prioritize consistency and overall quality over quantity.

Because of this, I’ve temporarily reduced other activities this month, including work on the main title, bug fixes for older releases, and some day-to-day interactions and support. I appreciate your understanding.

There are also features I’d like to expand in the future, such as further enhancements to the radio system (video elements, warning mechanics, etc.), but these were intentionally postponed for now. If circumstances allow, I hope to revisit them later.

At the moment, my main focus is final polishing of the overall flow and the creation of the gallery mode.
The side story is currently scheduled for release on January 9.
