Development Update #14
DEVLOG TIME!
This is going to be a quick one. Probably. Most likely.
While I'm writing this, the last batch of about a million renders is waiting to be rendered out for the next update. This means 0.5 is about to take its final form. All that's left to do now is:
Putting everything together in Ren'Py
Post-processing all those renders (aka fixing the clipping in PS I missed in DAZ)
Adding sounds and music
Testing this beast of an update
Last time I mentioned that there were still some scenes that felt a little off. We fixed that by adding three more small scenes to smooth out the edges.
One extra scene with Julia, one with Lisa, and one with... well. You'll see soon enough hehe.
I'm really happy with how everything has turned out so far and I can't wait to send it out into the world.
We're now sitting at around the 1.800 render mark, give or take. I didn't count exactly because I've developed an unreasonable fear of numbers, especially when they're on a calendar.
Speaking of numbers.
This is going to be the biggest update so far, which is great. But it did get me thinking: would it have been better to move some parts of 0.5 into 0.6 and release earlier? Because waiting for new content always sucks, and all the sucking involved with DS should be in-game.
So what do you guys actually prefer big updates every 5 months-ish, or smaller but more frequent updates every 3 months or so? Let me know in the comments, I'm genuinely curious.
Anyway, just me thinking out loud. I'm still very pleased with what 0.5 is becoming and really proud of how much we've managed to get done since the last release.
So what else?
I could complain about how my day job really sucked the last two weeks, but I want to end on a positive note, so I won't. Instead, I have a little surprise for you.
My homeboy Batman_sid and I did a character model trade. Julia for Charlie.
Good trade if you ask me.
Charlie is a real natural, the scene practicly build it self.
Charlie from Moonlight (Batman_sid)
And look at what Barrabas made for me! I think I need to get actual merch made. I want that jacket.
THANK YOU BARRABAS!
Also, don't forget to wishlist Demon Seed on steam!
Turns out I was lying when I said this was going to be a quick one.
And not even a TLDR this time.HA! Sue me!
Wish you all a great rest of the day.

Find the place where it makes sense to split the storyline and go with it. Just keep the devlogs coming and we'll decide with how we pay to support you. Don't sweat the little stuff when you can't always control how "little" that stuff may be. Small updates can be a downer, even if you speed up dev time 😁
Hey BG, can't wait to play the next update, really looking forward to it. With regards to future updates, I think a smaller one every 3 months or so would be more beneficial. It will help to keep the game fresh in people's minds and hopefully get more people talking about it, then people like me can go on the avnlovers reddit and say "hey, this game is great and has a pretty short dev cycle for updates now" and stuff like that! Anyways, hope you have a great week bud 👍 😀
Good point. Thanks for sharing, Avaricious 😀
For me, smaller updates every 3 months or bigger every 5 doesn't make much of a difference. Whatever works the best for you, really. Also, nice Charlie render 🎮 As always, good job, Volos :D
Hell Yeah Volos If you make merch let me know i will buy one
Thanks again for making this man, very much appreciated.
