Development Update – The Opening Is Nearly Rendered

I’ve now finished the title screen, which is the image attached to this post.

Progress on the first release has also moved on a lot over the last few days. The renders are nearly complete for three of the five main scenes, including the cryo opening, bridge sequence and medical section. That leaves the engineering and bedroom sections still to finish.

The first 15 minutes or so of the game are already put together, and one of the environments needed for the next scene is built and pre-lit. It mainly needs the character lighting and final renders now.

This first release has taken longer because I’ve been sorting out the full workflow as I go: character imports, expressions, lighting, materials, clothing and moving everything into Ren’Py. Most of those problems are now solved, so future updates should come together much faster.

The response to the screenshots has been genuinely encouraging, including someone supporting the project after seeing the latest work. Thank you to everyone who has followed, commented or supported it so far. It’s really helped confirm that this is worth pursuing.

I’ll share more from the remaining scenes as they come together.
