Patreon Change: Future Releases Moving to New "Remnant Bearer" Tier
Hey Cataclysm Survivors,
I need to share an update about the future of Echoes of The Cataclysm, and I want to be transparent with you all.
The Change
When I started this project, I included the line "Echoes of The Cataclysm is and always will be defiantly free" in the game itself; meaning that it would be free forever. I've realized that promise isn't sustainable for the project's future.
Starting with Chapter 1 Part 2, future releases will be exclusive to the Remnant Bearer Patreon tier and above.
Here's how it works going forward:
Chapter 1 Part 1 - Remains completely free as a demo (forever available to everyone)
Future chapters - Will require the Remnant Bearer tier or higher
DevLogs - Free members still get access to ALL DevLogs
Why This Change?
I started this hoping to keep it free, but I've discovered an unfortunate truth: free content tends to be valued less and receives less engagement than paid content. This change helps ensure the story can continue.

Q: Are the Patreon Tiers changing?
A: The only change is that Remnant Bearer will be the base tier required for Chapter 1 Part 2 and future releases.

Q: What will happen to Chapter 1 Part 1?
A: Chapter 1 Part 1 is freely available and will continue to be freely available - will also be referred to as a "demo" of Echoes of The Cataclysm.

I get it, bud. Hoping this helps you on your journey. I'll be supporting you all the way. These things aren't easy to make, and they’re definitely not cheap. Between the hardware, assets, and caffeine needed to grind through the renders, it all adds up.

Well, I am disapointed, this day was already bad and this is the cherry on top 😢 It's ypur project, it's your decision, and it's understandable but unfortunately I can't afford a higher tier and to be honest I'll probably be leaving this community. I won't bother you with the free year, I'd rather come back in the future if my situation changes. I wish you all the best!

Technically… it's still true…. EOTC (CH 1 Part 1) will always be free 🤣. And then you got the Leaker Losers 😮💨. *Urgh* I hate them sooo much 🤬. All understandable, Nuii. This was bound to happen eventually. If you're a supporter of any AVNs, you should already know a game won't/can't stay free forever (unless it's the demo). Remnant Bearer and Above!!! THIS just means I need to hurry up and get into the Tier I want to be 😅! Well, regardless of the changes… I'm still going to be coming along for the amazing, incredible, magical, magnificent journey and offering all the support/energy/vibes I can 😉👍🏻.

I like this change, controversial or not, and I support your decision! I honestly expected this to happen, to highten your quality. I understand that it's always tricky to break your word, but it's possible to do on rare occasions and with full transparency. And you've done both! This game is SO good, that I firmly believe that this change is for the better, and will be remembered as the start of the next chapter development of your game. Huge decision, but for me the correct one. You've got something truly amazing on your hands, and this journey will be epic :)
