Fantia
Patreon
Summary
Due to recent changes in Fantia’s policies and platform management, we are reconsidering continued activity on Fantia. There is a risk that content may be removed without prior notice, so we kindly ask that you download any content you want to keep as soon as possible.
We are planning to gradually shift toward using Patreon as our main platform, and will introduce a limited viewing period for content in the future. Monthly archive files will be provided for easy access and download.
Please read the full notice below for more details.
Regarding Activity on Fantia and Future Plans
To be honest, I’m beginning to question whether it’s sustainable to continue working on Fantia.
Over the past one to two years, there have been frequent changes to platform rules and specifications without prior notice. While I’ve managed so far, I can’t say with confidence that I’ll be able to continue operating here in the same way moving forward.
The platform’s terms of service are vague, and it’s often unclear what is and isn’t allowed, which makes it hard to feel safe using Fantia in the long term.
Recently, a piece I temporarily marked as private to adjust display order was deleted by the platform, judged as a “product with unclear description,” which was quite disheartening.
On top of that, the responses from Fantia’s management have been inflexible and largely unhelpful. The burden on creators has increased with each change, and most inquiries go unanswered. I worry that this increases the risk of accidentally causing inconvenience to my supporters.
Due to recent changes in Fantia’s policies, there is now a real possibility that content could be removed suddenly and without warning.
If there are any pieces you haven’t downloaded yet, please do so as soon as possible.
Because of these issues, I’m currently shifting my focus toward platforms like Patreon and DeviantArt, which offer greater freedom and clearer guidelines. Both platforms have become much more robust in terms of features and are more creator-friendly.
While I’ll continue updating Fantia for the time being, I can’t guarantee how long I’ll be able to maintain activity there.
Update Schedule Differences and Future Integration
At the moment, updates on Fantia and Patreon are about two months out of sync, but I plan to unify the update schedule in the future.
On Fantia, I’ve been updating at the end of each month. Patreon, however, charges users monthly based on their join date, not by calendar month. This creates a risk where some supporters may not get to access content, depending on when updates are posted.
Ideally, I’d like to produce two months’ worth of content in advance so I can shift to a stable monthly update schedule—but with my current workload, that isn’t feasible. I had initially planned to make a full transition to Patreon once I could build up that buffer, but it hasn’t gone as planned.
Eventually, I want to move to a system where “as long as you follow Patreon, you’ll be covered.” That remains the goal, though the timing and method of the transition are still under consideration.
Content Access on Patreon
As part of this integration process, I’ll be adjusting how content is managed on Patreon.
While all past content is currently available to view freely, I’m planning to introduce viewing time limits going forward to ensure proper content management after the platforms are merged.
For this reason, I kindly ask that you download content when it’s updated.
I plan to provide a monthly archive file at the end of each month, so if you download that, you won’t miss out even if some content becomes time-limited later on.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding. I’ll do my best to keep delivering content in a way that’s as smooth and accessible as possible.
