Pushing the limits.
A few days ago, I thought of testing something a bit extreme... In version 0.6, at the beginning of the first competition, there have to be some images showing the participants at the starting line. In other words, all teams in the same place... So, I decided to render 20 characters in one image, all at once, no image composition tricks whatsoever... The test was successful, and the render time turned out pretty good (first image).
Everything turned out great, so I’ve decided these images will be the basis for the final shots... But I made a mistake and left one contestant behind... Can you figure out who’s missing?...
...
This foolish developer left Etna out... Yeah, yeah, I get it, if she were there, it would be 21, which is impossible in the story... Heh... That’s why I said these are just a base, not the final images. Sally is there, and on one side she’s already gone. And on the other side of the story, Jenna wouldn’t even exist yet at this stage of the competition... Maybe it sounds tricky, but trust me, it all makes sense to me... probably 🤔 🤣
Bringing all the characters together like this isn’t easy... It took almost four hours to build this scene. Most of the characters who had already appeared in the game were ready in advance, so that part wasn’t too bad... But others who had never been seen, or had only appeared briefly, weren’t prepared until now... When I say "prepared", I mean set up for scenes with a high number of characters... Without that preparation, I’d roughly estimate that with about 8 to 10 characters on screen, even with my new graphics card being pretty solid, that would be the max.
In these test images, EVERY character has reduced textures, including hair and clothing. More than two-thirds of them also have a lower polygon count. The ones farthest from the camera don’t even have textures on their clothes, just the base color... Little tricks I’ve learned over time, considering that not too long ago I was rendering by sheer luck (GTX 1050) 😅
Everything’s fine... but I noticed one thing. I’m gonna need more RAM... At one point during the render, my available RAM hit zero, and my hard drive had to take the extra load, which made the render time longer... So, it’s already planned. By the end of the month, I’ll be upgrading from 16GB to 32GB of RAM.

Question: Wouldn't it make your life easier (rendering) to invent a new rule and make the girls wear some kind of uniform for the competition so they all wear the same clothes? The clothes is something I don't understand yet, just by using simple words they can make them disappear, so in theory you could do anything with the clothes, but it should be some system more secure so that you can't be stripped naked by the other contestants out of nowhere 😅.
Yep, it would be easier, but everything would look way more boring and monotonous... As for the clothes and how easy it is to undress, that's intentional. Only Emma, and by extension the whole MC team, know about the commands... and of course, Ronald, and maybe he’s told others too... or maybe not.
I don't know who Etna is, I barely know the 5 members of my group, plus the other 3 men (impossible to forget them) and I think I recognize 9-10 characters in total 😁. For me Asami is missing in the big picture, the other red-haired girl who is half Japanese and translates the Chilean language, but at the same time there are already 20 characters in the pic, so there is something wrong, we have an impostor 😱 (Among us meme).
Asami is right there, next to Pamela (the Chilean). You might not have recognized her because she's wearing a different hairstyle and outfit than at the start of the story. Etna is the only black woman...
