Translations?

Hello again.

Yep, I can't stop posting, that's me...

I was checking some very useful data from the game's statistics on Oppaiman.com and I saw that most of the downloads come from the United States, Germany, France, Great Britain and Brazil...

I speak Spanish and I plan to create a Spanish translation at some point, and obviously it will be a faithful work, without any problem of misinterpretation because it's my native language. English obviously, as you can see, is the original and current language of the game. It's not perfect but I think I can get by pretty well... or at least good enough to make everything easily understood.

French... many years ago French was taught in school here in Chile, and I remember some of it, although only basic things.

German... I have zero knowledge of German... Same with Portuguese.

What do you think?... I'm sure some of you speak French, German or Portuguese.

Which do you prefer? Continue reading the texts in English, as you have done so far, or perhaps you wouldn't mind a translation, a mix of Google Translate and AI (Gemini, Chat GPT). Please note that due to my almost non-existent knowledge of those three languages, I cannot make corrections and it's absolutely sure that more than one text will not turn out as it was really intended.

Many times I write in Spanish and to translate complex things into English I use the method I mentioned. But since I know English I can correct before approving the final translation.

In any case, it's not something that, if done, is a priority. No translation into another language will be done before finishing version 0.6 (time of the first competition).

Are you interested in the idea of having the game in Spanish, German, French and Portuguese, even if the translation is not all that good in the case of the last three languages?

My native language is German as well. It would be more than I can handle to do a translation by myself. But if at some point you could provide me with a dataset of the more or less automatically translated versions, preferably together with the corresponding English texts, it would be an honor to do the proofreading an necessary corrections.

Ah, missed the poll, but would have voted option 2 "meh". I play all AVNs in English cause they usually are and it's an international middle ground. btw, my native language is German. I'm not really interested in either playing a translated version or creating one, but if you were to create one with ChatGPT or something, I could take a look and point out errors when I have time.

Option one won (not interested in any translation), but we can't overlook the fact that most of those who gave that opinion are probably English-speaking people... and since option two was well received despite everything, I think it deserves to be analyzed more thoroughly... especially because thanks to a conversation not started by me in the F95 developers forum, it was revealed to me that making translations is much easier than I imagined. Also, one of you offered selfless help with other languages that are perhaps not as sought-after, but it's also something to take into account. Anyway, I insist. I'm not going to make any translation before having version 0.6 ready or almost ready... Thanks to all people who voted here :D
