Bitter taste... Don't worry, it's not related to the game.

Someone must have noticed that there's a new Patreon feature since a few days ago. NSFW content developers can recommend other peers... I didn't hesitate for a second to recommend the game "On Distant Shores". Graphically it's not a marvel, but it draws you into its unusual story, with some very well-done passages.

The main character has some serious mental problems of enigmatic origin, and also extremely strange things keep happening to him. It seems that the developer really has some problems (I'm pointing to depressive problems, but I could be wrong). In fact, he put the game and his Patreon on hold, without continuing to accept money... for several months. Extremely correct on his part. Excellent...

He recently launched what is the last update, the end of the game... I was waiting for months to see what happened at the end... And oh God, what a huge disappointment I've had...

The end itself is not the problem. The concept of the end is not the problem. That MC doesn't have a really good ending isn't the problem. We all knew that his story wasn't going to end well...

The problem is that it was a rushed ending.

I highly doubt that this developer ran out of ideas. He always had a rather singular mind. I feel that for some reason he thought he was ready to end and he really wasn't, and he ended up doing everything wrong out of exhaustion. He suddenly lost the love for what he did... How terrible.

You have a bunch of choices at the end that you have to make and that are really just there for you to click and they don't present any extra development, nothing happens. And it's terrible because it means that he left a huge hole in the story regarding a girl who was somehow of utmost importance... and in the end thanks to the developer's rush or boredom, all of that came to nothing.

For God's sake, if you see that at some point in this journey something similar is happening to me, please let me know. If you feel that I've stopped doing things the way I always did, maybe I need to be pointed out... Because for heaven's sake, I don't want to end up doing something as inexcusable as the ending of "On Distant Shores".

It's my duty not to continue recommending the game. Although it may be inevitable that some curious person will want to try it. But don't forget, I warned you...

Thank you.
