Soap Making Hobby Mod Part 1
With the arrival of the new expansion pack I wanted sims to be able to make, use or sell soap bars. I was so inspired by the different designs online!
These are the soap bars your sim will be able to make depending on their skill level and the essential oils they have in their inventory.
HOW IT WORKS:
Your sim can 'Research Soap Making Techniques' as seen below.
This interaction will give them the soap making bowl they need to make their first soap bars.
The bowl can also be found in small kitchen appliances. Initially, your sim will only be given the option to 'Leave Unscented', but as your sim progresses in the Soap Making Skill, they will be able to add fragrances and create more interesting designs.
Sims can purchase 'Essential Oils' easily via the computer. If they have a coupon, they will get a discount like with other things purchased online. This 'discount' feature is part of For Rent -I think- and it doesn't affect you if you don't own this pack.
Obviously sims are required to have the essential oils to make soap with fragrances. Each batch gives you about 7 soap bars.
Finally, I wanted your sims to be able to use the soap bars they make, otherwise they'd be kind of useless.
When your sims take a shower or a bath, they can click on their soap bars and they'll get a buff, which I will leave for you to discover. Each soap bar has 15 uses.
You could also sell your soap bars on Plopsy if you own 'Nifty Knitting', or at a small business if you own 'Businesses and Hobbies'. You can also gift them to other sims. Who doesn't love soap?
If a soap bar has been used even once, your sim won't be able to sell it on Plopsy because ew.
IMPORTANT
You need XML Injector
And the 'Island Living Expansion Pack'.
Please make sure to place the bowl at the center of the counter, or the options won't appear.
Update 19/02/26:Fixed an issue with the Plopsy app where the soap bars wouldn't leave your sims' inventories.

how can i get to the stage to use the oils? My sim has researched like crazy but it doesn't show any progress so not sure what i am doing wrong
Hi! you need to actually make soap. Try making a couple of unscented soaps with the bowl found in your inventory

Hello I just got both soap making mods and I don't have the "research soap" or Purchase soap supplies". I downloaded XMLinjector so I don't know what is going on with it.
Hello! The Research Soap Interaction should be available on any computer under the research category. The Purchase Soap Supplies is available on any computer in the order category
is this compatible with littlemssam live in business?

Hi I just downloaded and started using this mod yesterday. I'm having trouble delivering sold items to plopsy. Their listings turn blue but my sim simply will not put them in the mailbox.
Hello! thanks for bringing this to my attention. I just checked it and my sim approaches the mailbox, puts the parcel in and gets paid just fine. The only bug I noticed is that the soaps don't disappear from your sim's inventory, which I plan to fix within the next few days. Just to make sure, do you have the Nifty Knitting Pack?

Loving the mod so far! The only gripe I have with it is that when you make the soap initially (before pouring and adding essential oil etc) it doesn't cost anything so you can sit there and just make unscented soap for free and get rich off of it by just selling it in the sims inventory.
Hello! Glad you like it! I mean unscented soap is made of oil or some kind of fat and lye so I thought it would make it a bit complicated to have to buy those as well every time.
The soaps are adorable, thanks a bunch! Are there more variations of these soaps than what was displayed on screen? Do you know if they'll cause any issues with the Icemunmun soap-making mod?

Hello and welcome! I think it is probably because you didn't install xml injector as I mention in the post. If you did, then the interaction should be there in the 'Research' category. I hope this helps! x
Bars won’t leave inventory once sold on Plopsy? I can still keep selling the same bar multiple times.
Hi! Let me see if I understand this correctly. You have multiple soap bars and when you click on their pile, you can place them for sale on plopsy. Once somebody buys the bars, you see the animation of sending them in the mailbox, you get the money but the bars remain in your inventory?
